Okay so people suggest you build "web 2.0" link to your website. I'm confused on how to do so effectively.

So you sign up for an account say wordpress, weebly, tumblr, etc. You write out a quality article and you link to your site. Is this correct?

What about linking to PBN's which then link to your site? Is this safer? Is it more or less effective?

Both strategies work but you need more knowledge when you're firing PBN links at your site. Most importantly, you should own the PBN and know for a fact that there are no penalties against it, and the backlink profile is as spotless as it can be.

If you're firing questionable PBN links at your site, always point those at the web 2.0, and point the web 2.0 at your site. Web 2.0's sort of act as a buffer between shitty links and your site.
