I would start this my self but I am stull fuzzy with some of the terms. So I am inviting someone else to please start a thread that is a well structured dictionary of SEO terms.

I think this is a really good idea, especially as there are so many abbreviations and noobs just cannot know what they mean.

I have a pretty good start to a list, I'll post it when I get home... There are so many abbreviations

I still need one of these. I am not completely understanding the PR deffinition. people make it seem like the higher the PR the better. But it means page rank.. but for what search term.. Xd idk i dont understand. someone make it damn it.

You don't know what page rank is, that's part of the basics of SEO.

http://www.webworkshop.net/pagerank.html

Pagerank isn't the position of a page in the search results, it's a measure of authority for a webpage, which, in turn can lead to a good position in the SERPS, but not always.

Read, read, read, read, study, study, study, SEO is always changing, read the basics, google 'seo basics' before you register a domain name or buy hosting, read about what you are doing.

PR has nothing to do with the rank in the SERPS. It is a value calculated by google, which has a lot of influence factors. And the higher this Page Rank is, the better(0-10). It also is logarithmic, which means a jump form 4 to 5 is much more difficult than a jump form 0 to 1.

PR - Page Rank, a structured rank created by Google for your website page

SEO - Search Engine Optimization. It is the process of enhancing your website's ranking on search engine for specific keywords through various on and off page factors

IM - Internet Marketing, not instant messaging ;)

WP - WordPress. Probably the most commonly used CMS (Content Management System) in the IM industry.

CPA - Cost Per Action. A very popular type of offers that people here love to promote. It contains various offers such as email submits, zip submits, trial offers, etc.

CPS - Cost Per Sale

PPC - Pay Per Click. The act of paying through advertising networks for each click given to you. May lead to high expenses, but also if done correctly, can lead to high profits as well.

There's a start. Let's see some more people. :D
