i don't think bbw needs a babysitting section.
i vote for no posting within a set amount of time frame or thanks given.
this will force users to search and solve/answer 99% of there questions that have already been asked on the forum.

A significant amount can be learned here without ever asking a question, just
by reading threads. I know this because that is what I do.
Less than 60 days old, noobs should not be allowed to post in general areas
of the forum, but a specific area only. For questions like "How do I install
WP?" and every other question. As time goes by in this specific area of the
forum, NEW noobs can refer to those questions that where already asked
if they would only read.... LOL
They should be able to read the other general areas of the forum but not be
able to post a new thread, or hijack existing threads with "How can I make
$400 a month... pls help!!!"
These noobs should still be able to buy services people provide by making
those threads available in the "noobhat" section.
Serious noobs that want to get around this 60 day restriction could pay
$99.

Also, we can make it that noobs can create threads in only the help section until they reach over 100 posts..

completely agree with much that is said here. Either close down registrations/invite only or block commenting til you reach a certain milestone (account age, x number of thanks, etc). To take it another level allow noobs to be able to comment in one section only which will be a noob dedicated section.

Yeah my thumbs up for the suggestion. Lets name the section "HELP FOR NOOBS"
This will attract eyeballs of all the noobs and they will start visiting the section leaving other sections of the forum uncontaminated.
Experienced members can even offer mentoring, coaching and etc etc type of help as a give back to the forum if they want to.
Eventually noobs will get more experienced and the forum will be saved from being another DP

additional thought: call it the "newb lounge"
make it so that posts don't count for post count, and newb threads aren't tolerated outside of the "newb lounge"
that way people don't just start (and add) to stupid threads just to bump post count, but have a place to do so.

I'm a noob and I agree. I have no problem fishing out the methods that are laid out in
this great forum,but I always get stumped and quit over some technical issue that I
can't seem to find and answer to. I don't ask any questions because I don't care to get flamed over something that is old hat for some, but quite difficult for us noobs. Only
because we haven't done it before. I would love to be able to ask questions and share
ideas that I get, but I need to understand exactly how things work before I know that the ideas I get are even doable.
