What are some ways you bloggers, website owners use to get traffic?

I would agree with this entirely.

SEO is good to work on but remember, any indexed webpages are read by two seperate entities. People and Search Engine spiders.

It is always the SEO part that gets the most attention especially on black hat forums but what you ought to do is have unique, good content which will keep people coming back.

It also will encourage other website owners (especially blog owners in a blog post) to link to your site.

If they happen to stumble upon your blog/website and think it's worthy enough they may link to it. And even if they don't happen to find it on their own they may be more open to linking to it if you ask them, seeing that your content is good.

Then this will aid your offsite SEO and get you higher rankings which in turn will lead to other internet surfers/blog owners discovering your content.


So I would focus on building excellent content first (if you haven't done so already) and leave SEO til later.
