I have a website, which I want to constantly upload fresh srticles to. I want to limit the amount of php/html editing involved, but Im not sure what the best moethod is going to be.

I need to be able to easily upload the articles, as and when I have them.

I have thought about a wordpress blog in a sub-url of my site.....but suerly this would just result in the extra traffic being directed to the blog page, which wouldnt me much use...I need to get people to my homepage.

Id really appreciate any advice about what the best practise is for this situation.

    Thanks guys.

Deep links on your site are a healthy thing.
Here is a suggestion. Add a blog to your site. Don't put it in as a subdomain. Create a directory instead ie. yoursite.com/blog
Ok - now in wordpress you can add a ton of articles at once and then have them scheduled to release 1 or 2 / day so you only have to log into wordpress once a week. Your articles should link back to your home page. That will help out with traffic to your home page for teo reasons. 1/ People will click on the links 2/ Google likes the deep links

    Thats great thankyou.

So just to clarify; using the wordpress sub-folder method should improve my homepage's ranking on google, as well as hopefully getting hits from the blog?

Hard to argue with that logic, WP is perfect for that. The other option would be to either write some code or visit rentacoder (or similar sites) and have some php written that would add articles to your main site.
