Watermarking? Why not Annotations?

Has anyone used youtube annotations? It is basically their way of letting you watermark your video. How long have they had this?

As many of you know, I'm doing the ringtone CPA offer and I didn't mind watermarking it, and just threw it up to get started. Well, I noticed annotations, and just added my link and a sentence to my video.

I'm just curious if this is really new, and if anyone has used it.

It has been in beta for a while but they introduced it to the public about 1-2 month ago so its partly new. But last time I checked, you can't add links to external, only youtube.com links, let me know if you figured something out, we may be able to make thousands

Well, I don't need it to link out, I just need them to see the link to be able to type it in. This is the same as basic watermarking. I just put my link in the text area, so people can see it while watching the video.

I really like the idea esp since this is easier and more noticable. Think of it, a watermark everyone has on his video and noone really cares about it, but with the annotations it is waay different esp since they are quite new. Should increase the ctr to your site a lot.
