Watching streams online anonymously

As you might have heard, the European Court of justice decided that it is illegal to watch streams on the internet when these movies fall under copyright. That means that individuals who are watching movies on the internet commit a crime.

I heard that it is enough to use Zenmate and an addon that blocks WebRTC to be mostly anonymous when watching streams and that the authorities would have a hard time tracking you with this.

Is this right? Is it enough to use a proxy and a WebRTC block addon to watch streams only safely or would there still be more required to be anonymous? TOR is slow apparently...

Chill dawg, just use a proxy or vpn. They only monitor on the surface. Remember, they're not looking at you - you're not the center of the world. My idiotic roommate was downloading not using a proxy multiple times and I handle the network at our residence, and we got multiple warnings from the ISP. I taught him to use a proxy and no more warnings.

That's unless you actually own a really popular movie streaming site, then it's a lot deeper than just using a proxy

Just make sure to use a proxy or VPN and that should minimize the risk a lot

Torguard is brilliant for this, and they (supposedly) keep no logs, but you can pay via crypto so adds an extra layer of protection. It's super fast too. Don't bother using public proxies or anything like that, VPN is the best route purely down to convenience.

If you want to be super super safe, stream the movie down to a russian disposable server, and then watch remotely via VPN - I mean if you're ultra paranoid.

I wouldn't worry too much about the ECJ, it's run by a bunch of bureaucrats. You're more than likely to get fucked over by paying for some shady stealth solution than streaming itself, so don't dig too deep into this.
