Watch One of My Exploits at Work

P.S. Make sure you partner up with a network who is cool with this. Some are, some aren't.

My question is what Networks would be cool with this? And which one's aren't?

Thanks

I have no clue. Maybe other members can chime in. The ones I used are no longer with us, lol.

What would I say to the Networks as far as letting this method run? What did you tell them? (when they existed, lol)

Don't tell them anything.

If you want to open dialog then say you're testing out a new traffic source and aren't 100% sure about the quality of the traffic so you'd like to run a trial of X leads and then get feedback on whether the quality is up to par so you can ramp it up.

You'll need a fair bit of marketing knowledge though otherwise they'll see right through you. If you're a complete newbie then just don't say anything.

It's also not recommended to send all your traffic to one network anyway.

If you're serious about IM then set aside 2 weeks to sign up to pretty much every network you can find. Put together your company site, get signed up and get organized then for split the traffic to different networks. Enough to get the minimum payment by cheque, or a bit more if you have serious traffic. $50-$500 is a safe amount. Over time you'll get to know which networks are more lenient, but as long as your traffic makes the network and advertiser $$ then all but the strictest networks will accept it.

It's also nice to receive 20-30 cheques for 3 figure amounts at different periods throughout the month. :)

Very good splishsplash....exactly what i was looking for.

Sounds like you already have experience doing this.
Appreciate the help.

As a few people have asked similar questions via PM, I figured to update the thread and answer them here.

HTML Here is 2 types of html code you can use: (take out my old urls and images of course)

(1) Clickable image:

<center><a href=http://google.com><img src="http://i.imgur.com/etMxb.png" alt="" /></a></center>

(2) Clickable image with clickable text below it:

<center><a href=http://google.com><img src="http://i.imgur.com/etMxb.png" alt="" /></a></center>
<center><span style="color:#151B8D;"><span style="font-size:32px; font-weight:bold;"><u><a href="http://google.com">CLICK HERE TO CONTINUE</a></u><br><br><br></center></body></html>

Since you'll have to swap out the images after the campaign is approved, you're stuck with it being an image based campaign. This doesn't matter as much being that its clickable but what about the issue with the ESPs not showing the image at first and only a "View Image" or "Open Image" button? Well, there is no way to get around that but your campaign would still have a good click-through rate even if you didn't change anything. However, the clickable image with call-to-action text (or any text for that matter) works better since the viewer would see that it's not a blank email and would know to look for an"Open Image" button, etc... You could also use some generic text like, "Open Image Above" or "Open Image to View Email." Just try to direct them to click the image button or link. This won't raise any red flags with the review team since it's not specific to any particular campaign and is a common tactic used by mailers who only use image based campaigns.

Hi Jeff!

Seems great but is it still working? I tried it exactly the way you mentioned. Send out the first email to me - it goes into approval phase, gets approved and sent. Then I resend the same email to 1000 addresses bu unlike in the video it again gets reviewed. Can you please confirm?

Thanks a ton!

Yes it still works. Once you convert to the paid version every email send will be reviewed regardless of quantity. You'll need to follow the image swap-out protocol as described in the video in order to keep getting approval for the send.

Which CL sections have mainly regular emails? I leave my scraper working for hours, and it doesn't find many valid ones (non business related).

The Community and For Sale sections are the best. However, some subsections within those two don't have a lot of regular emails while others have tons. Those two sections convert the best since its just everyday people posting there.

A scraping strategy I would recommend is to scrape overnight for the previous day's emails and do your sending during the day which they'll open later on that night or the following morning. You can scrape same day too but if you're doing it at noon lets say, you're not getting the whole day's worth and will have to scrape again at night to get noon to midnight, etc... Also, when you rescrape you'll collect the same emails up until noon which will be pointless since you already have them.

Alright. Thanks a lot!

Also, do you know any method to bypass Craigslist phone verification for non US residents? I tried using proxy script on my own hosting which is based in USA. It still asked for phone verification just before publishing the ad.

Many thanks!

It goes into the review phase in the video too. Re-watch the video more carefully. :)

It doesn't go into review phase the second time in the video - when more contacts were added. Jeff paused the recording when it was under process and then resumed it while it was sending the emails.

Yes it does. I simply paused the video so you wouldn't have to sit there waiting until it was approved. I unpaused the video at that point which is why it looks like it didn't get reviewed.

Yeah it does go into review phase. He talked in-depth about this and even explained how you get around it. I don't know how you missed this. Everything he discusses in the last half to 2/3 of the video are centered around the fact that they do review it every single time, always.

He's discussed multiple points around this like if you're using multiple accounts you need to vary the campaign because the human reviewers will notice the same campaign in each account as well as how you use images to slip blackhat campaigns through the reviewers.

You really can't have watched this or you've just kept skipping forward.

You need to make a hot drink, sit down and CONCENTRATE for the full 20 minutes.

Then how to swap the link part (the http://google.com part in your example) after it sent?

Sorry about not explaining this a little better. You could simply use a redirect after the campaign gets sent out. You can't swap out the link but can redirect it or have it sent to your site which you could switch out too. Remember, people don't open your emails right away so you could send out the whole 30k (or more) emails before making the redirect or site switch.

Now another thing you could do is create your fake campaign to not even look like it's clickable, thus, the review team won't think to click it. This is what I did so I didn't need to worry about getting the url or site redirected/changed over. I attached an example fake campaign I used that has no indication (i.e., calls to action) that it's clickable. I would suggest going this route if you plan on scaling this method.
