Hey all, this is my first post here on BHW. I have been a reader for years but have never had an account, so I thought it was about time to join.
I gained a good amount of knowledge from the forum—maybe I can share some of mine over time, I've been in affiliate marketing for 8 years or so.
Now, my media buying experience is within paid ads, sms/email/push but with a 2 year break from it I thought it was a good time to start something new - which came to TikTok.
With all the newbies and 'younger' people getting into aff marketing, it seems like this is the new way to go on Social media —although the block in the US also showed how volatile this is. Anyway, I have been trying out some simple SOIs on TikTok. Whereas with SMS some years ago, I could make 3 sales with 5 clicks and have 500%++ ROI, now with these super simple SOIs sweeps, it seems impossible to get any sales.
A quick rundown of the the process at the moment:
- Set up US residential proxy - used a couple of different ones like Proxy6, Nodemaven, resi.gg & proxys.io - together with Adspower.
- Make emails with either Gmail, Outlook, or this new trick with iCloud where you can make a bunch of aliases. I normally warm up the emails a bit to make them a bit less likely to get the SMS verification needed. (Also bought some used emails but seemed like this did not make much of a difference with TT)
- Make tt business Center | This is where the first issue comes in - some of the accounts get suspended before even launching an ad. But not too much
- Warm up the accounts by running some wh landers, and creatives for simple ecomm stores or Amazon links - since tt has min. deposit, of 10$ to deposit into the accounts, we Put 11 on the business center - increase ad account balance to 11$ and take 10$ out again so there is 1$ on the ad account - in the beginning we deposited everything but resulted in a bunch of suspended ad accounts with 10$ stuck in it which is impossible to get out when the account is suspended. (not that getting the refund from the business center is any easier lol - or is it? Support keeps telling me it's not possible)
- in the step above, lots of ads do go through since it's all white but have been noticing some major blocks even on these ads.
- When the ads are running and active for a little while, we launch the wh ad with the bh lander on it.
- if we even get to this point - which most of the time we don't - we launch the bh spark with the bh link and copy these ads so we have about 15 live.
- Clicks come in, cr is good and sales should also come in which they don't hehe.
So as you might see, we have some issues with the steps:
- getting the ad accounts to not get instant block before even running anything. - This seems to be a problem with all proxy's we've used so far.
- Getting the wh ads approved without the ad account being suspended after the first launch.
- Getting the bh ads approved. We've been testing some cloaking and hidden js scripts to leave out some bots etc. Also, automated rules when with UTM blocking, changing the lander within the tracking link after approval. But this seemed to not make that much difference.
- the ads get flagged - which is strange since we're not posting stuff against tt policies - as far as the tt sparks go ( I think), they even get flagged with the ecomm lander.
- we keep putting 11$ dollars on the new accounts - i'd say we have about 20 business centers now with suspended ad accounts with all 10$ stuck in it haha. Which, if one of the ad accounts in the business manager gets blocked it's basically useless to try to make a new one.
- Lots of dropoff on the landers, this seemed a lot more in UK than in US at the moment but have been hearing that other guys are having the same so seems to be within tiktok. - for now, we're mostly ripping the sparks, reposting them etc. Tried custom ones as well but didn't make the difference which, especially in this testing phase, I think getting the hang of how it works before making our own is more important. - when looking at the data passed in the clicks we do see a lot of bots. Like the links are getting cached.
As far as prelanding goes, we're using either:
If you came this far with reading what might be a bit of a boring story, thanks. Any tips or tricks are welcome or specific changes that would make this work. Feel like it's not rocket science compared to what I used to do with setups but with all the AI being used these days it's me against the bots.
Reading this back seems like we're testing a million things at once but we've spent around 400$ (embarrassed to say) over 3 weeks with offers that pay around 4$ per lead - normally'd say 3 times the payout x per creative but since a lot of this is not getting to the point of testing different creatives I'm trying not to think about this rule too much for now.
Thanks for reading! Happy to share some knowledge and hope to get some good feedback. - Will be posting some updates I think in the next couple of days/weeks if I can make it work.

As far as prelanding goes, we're using either:
- tiktok instant page -> prelanding -> offer
