Watch me make an authority site! From nothing!

Hello all.

It's been a little since I've updated this thread and I figure it's about time.

I've been testing and doing some page optimizations for clickbank but so far I haven't earned anything.. I've changed my offer and created a nice drop down on the header and It's gotten a lot more clicks instead of just the sidebar that I had as I already mentioned.. I'm going after a weight loss product because I am very limited with what I can offer in clickbank as my niche is very sub sub niche I don't have much that relates to my website.. so it's been a little annoying trying to promote something that isn't very related, but I have been getting clicks and here it is so far:




As far as traffic, my organic visitors has doubled since last month as I've gained more rankings. I won't show my rankings positions just yet because I am doing link building at the moment but as soon as I see more improvements I shall update this thread with more information. I'm almost hitting my first ever #1 keyword, which is great but once I reach it it's all a matter of getting more and more, but it won't matter if I can get revenue from my website..

Right now I am even limited to the amount of content that I can put out, as my niche is in health, but very sub niche all I can put is pretty much recipes.. that's what most people are looking for and I'm not copying people's recipes in the internet because of the photo issues and I'd rather be authentic, so if I start actually ranking for some better keywords then I'll start doing them on a daily basis for the next few months and see how it does.

But this niche and all the keywords that I've targeted I can get at least 300K+ visitors per month without a problem, so I'm going to do major link building to other pages and see how it does in a month's time.

I will do this as a little test and see.. when I get ready to start creating tier 1's and create links I will post this with more information.

UPDATE 1.6

So, I'm still working on it, today I will be creating a about 5-10 tier 1 links (per article) for about.. 10 pages/articles that I want to target overall and then I will start doing backlinks to it in a few days as I want to automate things as much as I can. Right now I want to buy scrapebox in the next few months so that I can start getting high PR links from tumblr and weebly (expired domains).

A little good news.. this site has earned it's first few dollars..

I sold an item off of amazon, I hate the commission rate though, so low. but overall I am testing things out, the item has already shipped.

I do have some question since I am a noob in all of this. I've tried with an affiliate site last year but didn't stuck thru. Will be doing it again, just want to have a bit more of a game plan this time around.

so my questions are - When choosing a niche - do you look at search results (i haven't been able to find one of those as of yet, least search results around 50k, most around 250-500k, adwords monthly searches around 4-5k max... is that a good niche to go in? its pet supplies to be more precise...)

also, what is GSA?

if anyone would be willing to answer i'd be really thankful.

Great journey man, hope you achieve you goal of 30$ per day. I myself have no money to start out, but im still trying and learning. So happy to see its possible. Big inspiration

Honestly, I've been seeing search results in a completely different light.. I'm moving from micro niche sites and into authority sites for a few specific reasons.. one main one is that.. google is giving high credits to big authority sites in it's niche.. for example: I created one specific article targeting a keyword with 49k searches.. a 1.5k word article all perfect with an infographic too to keep visitors engaged and whatnot.. hufftonpost created 1 400 word article and it's ranking right now above mine for the last three months..

You see what I am saying? So, creating an authority site now is one of the most important things.. don't create a short term business, think longterm..

GSA is a link building software that you can find here on the forum.. search around.

Wohoooo, so today I woke up to see some more sales on my AMAZON account..

The most important thing to me, is being able to see that the site actually can earn some income.. I guess something that bothers everyone in the beginning is if "Will this site actually ever be able to generate any income at all", and questions in that sort, and after a lot of work things are finally moving..



As far as clickbank.. I don't have a lot of hope for it.. not for my niche at least.. but I'm going to keep on trying.

I have not created any reviews for this website, yet but I am thinking about it for the near future if it's worth it.. not sure yet.

I chose a niche, and did some keyword research for buying term keywords that involves that niche, I created a page that shows off the products in a few different ways and then have a "buy button" just text and have been ranking it.

Other pages are just articles with keywords that involves that specific niche.

Hey man. You told you lived in US for most part of your life but now are you in Brazil or US?
I ask this because I'm living in Brazil and would like to know how someone here would handle with the taxes (our so "loved" super heavy taxes)

I live in Brazil now.

I don't file for the taxes, and I won't ever put my website as a real business, that's just more way for them to steal money from us.. I could receive how much ever I want and they won't ever ask about it, so there's no need to worry.. I've received thousands and thousands without any problems whatsoever.

Nice you are in the thousands level already huh. I'm still beginning but who knows I'll be there some day.
I was thinking about bitcoin to avoid taxes but if I can receive without have to pay those taxes then thats great.

No, don't bother, just receive the payments straight to your credit cart either from direct transfer or paypal, none which they'll check.

And sadly, not yet, I just have received quite a lot in the last few years, and plus with the dollar being 4 REAIS I'm trying to earn all that I can.

So far things are looking up.. I've made another sale on amazon, so give items sold.. but the most important thing for me is the SEO part.. compared to last month.. so far this is what I have received from organic traffic..



LAST MONTH: 417
THIS MONTH SO FAR: 1064

That's an: 155% increase in traffic!

As far as AMAZON goes, as I mentioned I made another sale today.. I need to sit down and optimize this website better.. I really need to.. but I've been doing some programming jobs as of late but I have been doing SEO to it.

Well, I'll need to take a look at it but as far as taxes goes, nothing so far. Not that I'd be too worried about it, if I have to file taxes then so be it, doesn't really worry me.

Hey guys, I figured I should update this thread.. I've been doing more link building, and right now I am testing the effects of 301 URL shortners, been 1 week since I launched my GSA campaign to those 301 urls.. in any case, my rankings are doing much much better than the last few months, I haven't made any money with amazon this month so far though.. I need to update my website to include a div with a nice box design that leads to my buying page..

I'm also doing a private case study on the effects of tumblr since they changed their url structure.. this test is going for the 20100 keyword that haven't budged EVER SINCE I begun this website.. never has it ranked before so it's a good keyword to test the effects of tumblr now.. in any case I'll post it up soon.

In any case this is my ranking for my most important keywords.. the ones that I highlighted green are my buying terms..



All the following ranking has always used web 2.0, tiered link building.. it has a good backlink profile, no-follow and do-follow..

I wish I could afford to build a nice private blog network or at least of a few domains so that I could start earning with this site.. but so far all I've made was $10 bucks, last month.. this month I've gotten more clicks but no sales.. kinda interesting..

I've been using GSA for everything so far, used a few services in the past too but all were tiered link building.. nothing else..

Anyway, just an update!
