People have to realize that not everyone is an English major studying at Oxford. I don't bash people because they don't write something clearly - English may be their third language for all I know. I can be 100% sure that their English is better than my Italian, French and Chinese (and every other language out there)! If something isn't clear, get over it - read what he's saying, not HOW he's saying it.

Let this thread go back to what he meant it to be - a helpful thread aimed at new marketers - aimed to help them get started with a little more than the cost of a pizza.

PS. OP - In the future, you can help yourself out by being a little less drastic in how you address your audience... ya know? I know you got ticked because ppl weren't reading the full info - but putting it a bit nicer and calmer would have kept alot of the flame-war from happening... just some food for thought, ok?

How much is your targeted traffic base and the volume? Making $5k per month with one site with SEO traffic is pretty impossible unless you plan to keep this journal live for at least 1.5 years. Even for the experts. As you are focusing on the perspective and skills of a newbie, I think thats kind of impossible target.
 
AutoBlogger brings up a good point that brings to mind three questions for those that are planning on using this:

1) What is the realistic amount you plan on shooting for? (It's fine if it's actually $5k per month, just wanting to ensure that is your actual goal)

2) What time frame do you think it will take you to get there or what is your goal time frame?

3) Are you expecting to reach the goal with one site or will it be 'rinse and repeat' for additional sites once the first one is bringing in traffic and monetized?

Ok... now you've got my full attention - if you manage to get 1/2 of that in 20 days not only would I be impressed, but I'll be creating several of the sites with your method.

If you're in kind of shorthand, let us know so that we can help, so site is new and this thread is about motivate newbie, why don't you reveal the domain and stuff, we're good to help you to archive that goal.
