I see a lot of people posting about how they waste so much time online.
How do you identify what is the best return for your time?
Are there things you know you should be doing, or something that would be more beneficial.
Like you could spend an hour looking though this forum, or you could spend an hour posting in other Forums promoting your product.
You could be doing a traffic exchange or creating a new website or emailing contacts.

If you define one thing that if you consistently performed, would reduce the amount of time wasted online?

Using time constructively is different for each person, it's dependent on the individuals skill set and level of experience. A newbie spending 5 hours reading the forum and learning is just as constructive as an experienced seller fulfilling 10 orders within the same time frame.

Remember, the more you learn, the more you earn.

Are there any posts on here you would recommend? That have helped you in the past.

There's too many posts to search and post here for you, use the "Search Function", everything you could possibly need is here. It's just a matter of going through it all.

Just work on something that benefits your long term goals. You shouldn't worry too much as long as you're doing SOMETHING. Bonus points if you find it interesting, it means you will do a better job faster.

However, if you're one of those people that defines wasting time as doing anything other than the maximum ROI thing (time being the investment in this case) then you need to test everything and collect as much data as possible.

How many leads do you get from 1 hour of promotion on Facebook? How much is every lead worth to you? Once you know the answer to those questions, you can objectively tell the return of 1 hour of Facebook promotion. Now do this for every other type of promotion.

You put a $$$ value on each action you do and then it will be quite obvious how you should be spending your time online.

defining your goal makes your life plentiful and colorful, it just like a boat, if there is no direction for him, he maybe flows anywhere, he lasts his function, no passion to go to the future.

For my time to be spent effectively I either need to be actively earning money OR I need to have a clear goal that I am working towards that will earn money. If neither of those two boxes are ticked then I am wasting my time :-)

me, i spend my free time visiting websites with sports stats for my betting analysis :D

Focus focus focus!
If there's no ROI in terms of money or knowledge or happiness then you know you have wasted time - be it online or offline.

I have my own experience, what you said is correct initially, but after learning somethings from this forum i m starting to getting lots of ideas so we can easily monetize our ideas through this forum....now spending lots of time which meanings lots of money going to be earn in near future...

Wasting time for me is not being productive. When I'm online, I watch some stupid videos on YT/FB,
or just get stuck on those sites so I spend lots of my free (unneeded) time.
Like you said, I could've done someting that would matter. But, I didn't. It's easy to be passive, to get carried away.

Those who don't, they're strong IMO. They have the highest chance to succeed! :)
