I believe there was, but not 100% sure on what was affected.

The latest Penguin has been rolling out the past month. So yep, your site tanked.

I'm pretty sure they change the algo every day, we just don't notice it unless it's a major update.

I got those charts from serpfox.

What's funny is the site that dropped the longest is a handmade site coded in html with unique content and no backlinks. Wait, I just checked, there are 3 backlinks that I got by asking people with related sites to link to me years ago. I'm thinking of making this site a case study here because it's cool and should rank.

Maybe one of those backlinks were driving a lot of traffic and it go removed?

Doesn't sound like your site would be a candidate to get dinged by penguin 4.0

There was regular algorithm followed with panda upgrade around the end of september

Would be interested in the case study, because it doesnt make much sense to me if what you're saying is actually true.

Yep, there is buddy, and no one knows when it's going to change,
It may take some time.

I can see many sites with full keyword stuff & crap content ranking on 1st page. Google bot has gone mad...really mad.

topcoder, can traffic influence rank? Or you mean a good link got wiped? To specify, that is a place chart rather than a visitor chart.

Google does update in its algorithm. If it crawls and find your site with some issues definitely it will affect your site like getting penalized and deindex.

Complete tanking like that looks more manual than algo though....
