IT depends if they kept a record or not on the site but I think you can contact Waybackmachine and request they delete the page or post which shows the image as well.
 
My personal strategy:

"Wow! Thank you so much for alerting me! It seems my site might have been hacked! I have deleted the image. Take care!"

Delete, block, hope for the best.

Anyone can sign up to them and upload their images and their crawlers will do the rest.

It's a great way to make money if you're a photographer.

I dealt with them... They don't stop.

After ignoring them for months I eventually paid the fee.

Idk where you live, but if you live in Europe like me, they send debt collectors here...

Unless you have a license for the images or can claim fair use, you have no leg to stand on.

Im not from EU but i travel a lot to EU countries. Im not sure if they can find my name and real address (probably they cant) because if they do i will have to pay as they wont let me in EU!

Ill skip them for now!

The photographer sets the prices I believe. (I think the split is 60/40)

I was fortunate enough that mine was only 180 euros. The photographer was some professional that lives 30 minutes away from me lol. (he even looked me up on LinkedIn)

I used the pic for a high-ticket affiliate site where each sale is nearly 300 euros so I wasn't too upset by the setback. :P

You can negotiate the price but since they most likely have no idea who you are, you shouldn't reply at all.

Best thing you can do is:

Delete, Change the URL of that specific article and Ignore.
Never reply them back. Never.

Hey, i got similar problem here.. Unfortunately, they seems like scanning my poor website and found another one from my old posts. So i got 4 warnings in a month. Lol!
What make surprised me, they seemed to save the suspected pages in the Wayback Machine.

Do you ask removal on Wayback Machine or just let it go?

How many reminders / how long until they gave up?

PS: I removed all the suspected images.

This happened long time ago and don't remember many details.

I just ignored them and they stopped emailing me. Simple as that
