It's opposed to Free of charge as becoming a Donor isn't free.
Pofecker replies only please.

Curious,

If one is giving away a freebie, which I often do in my normal everyday business stategies, does anyone give something of value away for free and never expect somethng in return, as in, creating a new potential customer in the future, so how is no profit defined? Certainly when I give away something for free, it is to create reciprocal referral, or future business, and this is always connected to profit of some kind at some point in time, is it not?

Free is a dubious marketing word, as well as a powerful one, but it can and has been overused with many not so free deals, or the typical upsells we all hate. I am looking for a little more clarity on how you define free. If one is giving away a free oofer, item or service of value without ever expecting any profit in return, I want to know what it is. Never came across one before that was not being given with no intent of profit or gain in the future. Any examples would be helpful to avoid breaking the rules.

Thanks,

Why are you picking his words out of context like that? Surely you understand what he meant? I'm a noob and I can understand it. I think you are just trying to bait him to say something else and inflate your internet ego at the same times.

Disagreeing because agreeing is too mainstream?

In short, there's no list building allowed.

I understand BHW doesn't allow list building in such threads, but as a Jr VIP am I allowed to at least have a link in my signature where users can sign up to my list, where I offer something?

Such things are not allowed , even if you are a Mod here

So leave the chapter and dont argue

Rules are Rules

Dude, I wasn't arguing, nor do I intend to. I'm merely asking a valid question. Anyway, I prefer a mod to answer my question thanks, unless you can show me the rule which negates the specific point I raised. Thanks.

No worries , wait for the answer from Mod / Admin

Hope they will clear your querries .

Great post and a great initiative. I myself have been scammed by a few members in the past. Maybe you should have an option to post you guys/ or a shit list where we share the members name/email content of the guys who have made an email list from bhw members?

I like the disabled rep button, that will keep the reps on a minimum :)

Hy.

I want to start a thread here and I need to clear something so I do not go against the rule.

I will give free blog comments and I want that after I finish the job to send an excel report for that, only the report of the work.

If I'm not allow to ask for email how can I send the report to the user? I probably could upload the report file on a file sharing website but since that report will also include my blog list and also the user details(website/kw) this will probably not be such a good idea to make it public.

So.. how could I do that without going against the rule.

Thank you.

Hi,
I am starting a thread to give free WordPress sites to a new user each day. Is it against the rule to ask them to write a review after they got their site?

hey guys, is still valid the "I'll randomly choose x members..." form?

What's the go with free software that has a pay-to-unlock-feature included? Is that against the rules, or not? Like 95+% of program functionality would be there, just one or two premium features (that would actually cost me money for people to use).

Edit: Payment could be kept anonymous by using Bitcoins as the only accepted payment method, and have a key delivery system that doesn't use email (could use PMs instead).

i have a question, am i wrong if asking for thanks or rep on my thread? sorry for my dummy question :)

I have a promo code for 50% off all hosting packages that are good till March 30th am I allowed to post that in this section?

Great post I can't find the agree button though? I think I'm being a bit stupid xD

i think that if anything involves usernames, you should never have to give the password as well.

Some members are creating threads on this section to get fresh content to their blogs and they name it as [GIVEAWAY]. No it is not. That is just a guest blog posting. And presenting such a thing as a giveaway is nothing but fishy.

Mods, am I wrong here?

Quick question, does surveys or trial periods in exchange freebies not fall in the freebie category?

what if i give out a freebie which is lets say a service. But the person will need more of it but then i'll have to charge. will that be any violation? if i put in a pitch in my pm that to get more they can pm for rates?

Thanks for this and sorry about tickling an old thread! I am trying to post a new thread in the Freebies/Giveaway forum giving away few free 500 words article (no sales whatsoever) however have triggered the moderation system! How do I go about this? Rest assured there are no smileys, contact info sharing et-al. Or am I doing something overtly stupid! Any pointers guys?
