Considering to offer free slots to use in an automated tool that I have valid license to use, but not using all the available slots. For that, I have to collect the credentials from the taker(s) that want to be used in the tool. Is this something that I can offer?

Nope - you cannot collect credentials, AKA outside contact information, from the members unless inside an approved and reviewed sales thread.

Can I do a logo giveaway from a logo creation site?

Flow:

1. People reply to thread expressing interest
2. Based on capacity, post on the thread quoting the poster to invite them to PM url of the logo
3. Respond with a link in PM to a download of their logo

The objective is to keep the actual logo private as I don't imagine people want to put that publicly in the thread.

Does this meet the rules? I tried to read them all and I think so, but not 100% sure.

If you keep everything via PM, do not send anyone or advertise a site and deliver via PM, sure, that is fine.

Good point - the user would need to send me a link to the logo they want from the external site, but the instructions to do this can be from the public thread right? So I can say "send me a link to X.com of the form X.com/logo/maker/abcdef00010110 which you get once saving your logo" and this way I am not advertising a site via PM but instead via the thread. Does that still work? It's not my site it's like the Adobe giveaway but for logos.

You are not allowed to direct them to a website per the rules:

There's times where you will have to Private Message members in order to give them their free information, service, item, etc. They MUST request this within your thread first. At NO POINT are you allowed to direct any member to a website, instant messenger address, email address, form or signature. The member should get ONLY the information that fulfills your freebie/giveaway via PM REPLY. Anything else will be considered advertising/selling and you will be in violation of the rules.

Ah, I got it. But I can say "free logo from logo maker XYZ, send me the link you get after hitting "save progress" via PM and I'll send you the source files" correct? Everyone else seems to be doing that with the Adobe or Envato giveaways where you're implicitly giving the link by describing the external service but making members figure it out the actual link on their own. I assume this is therefore allowed?

Yeah that would be OK but you cannot send them back to XYZ site.

@BassTrackerBoats

very confused on this: for a freebie offer, can the provider collect your email information? or have you email him the information to process the freebie?

is the answer dependent on him having an approved sales thread or that has nothing to do with it?

You are not allowed to direct them to a website per the rules:

But many do this and the posts stay up.

There are posts for "free courses" with a list of links to Udemy.

I think the idea of freebies/giveaways is that people should be giving away their own stuff.

But many (many) threads are links to free offers available on other websites.

But where else to put them?

They aren't "downloads" like putting a ripped course or wordpress plugin on Mega.

And they aren't a member's product or service given away as a "freebie".

So where to post a link to a free trial, free Udemy course or other limited/temp freebie of value from an external provider?

In a freebie one cannot collect emails or share any other outside contact information.

The person that shares those free udemy courses should be self reporting them when they are no longer free so they can be removed or that is selling or advertising outside the proper channels.

I reported a PM for asking for email and it got declined with this msg

Unfortunately, your recent report has been rejected: Conversation message in 'NAME OF THE FREEBIE' - It's not against the rules.

That is an error as asking for emails in a freebie is not allowed.

Here is a link to share what is not allowed as to a freebie - https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/warning-rules-before-posting-here.472210/

The staff member just made a mistake it seems there.

i wish all of our "reported" requests came with a ticket number visible to us so that we could easily refer to it .
That is an interesting thought and I'll bring that up on Monday in one of our meetings.

@BassTrackerBoats What if I want to give press releases as giveaway and it requires media contact at the end which includes Name, email or phone, website and location?

Question: I have a big giveaway (backlink from top ranking sites in super competitive niches, no BS), but I can't see a way to do this without interacting via email. At least I'll need to have people fill a form so that I can speed up the process, otherwise I can't do this for free.

How do I solve this?

Honestly, this section has been a mess. I was here recently testing some of these giveaways, and I was contacted via PM asking me to register using their affiliate links, and if not I am not given what was promised in the thread. How to report PMs ?
And the strange thing is that you allow new members to post, members who are less than one month old in the forum !!!!

So I read the rules for this section, and it really doesn't make much sense. Many times if you want to share something for free you need to be able to post a link to it, but the rules seem to indicate that you can't do that because it is considered advertising. You can't do any list building here so where is the incentive for the poster to want to share something for free? If you post something here you can't have the person PM you for more information? Or am I missing something? If you screw up on any of the rules you can be banned. There are a great many posts on this section all showing a lot of confusion about the rules, and about how this section is to be used. Quite frankly, it looks like such a nightmare to me that I don't want to touch it with a 100 foot pole! Although it would be nice to be able to post something completely for free for BHW members to use, I don't see any comfortable way to do such a thing in this section. Good luck to those who want to try.

@BassTrackerBoats first of all I respect all the rules But if this section of for the Newbies and for the giveaway then if any People wanna Learn & we contribute for an example me then I Post free courses & Tricks stuff which are useful to everyone But with you being said the context Must be created by your own. But here are the things in the world Every single cant master everything Everyone Master for a thing or two .. so when it comes to giveaways it's according to me its means the content we post here should be useful and others (Instead of we look who created this or we look of the ownership of Content )

this is all I said base on my last experience because I Posted Previous here Free useful courses but unfortunately that tread goes Deleted by some reason of DL something I don't remember actually. I put too effort to write into my post so that it can Helpful for others but that's okay too if that How here the rule are & all accepted with full respect (But you should also do focus too )

Thank you BHW Team ( one of the best in Market )
