[WARNING] iMacros Users Double Check Your CLEAR command

Hello, I just stumbled on a serious bug while setting up new VPS servers running iMacros bots. The CLEAR command no longer clears the cookies. I've been running this same script for about a year with great success and suddenly I'm seeing linked and banned accounts - ugh.

So today I had a bit of time and here is my test bed:

FireFox 19.0.2 running free version of iMacros for FireFox 8.2.4. I believe both are the latest as I just setup this new VPS yesterday and just downloaded them.

Now create a simple script that runs CLEAR and goes to www.google.com

Before you run your script, remove any proxies and log into a Google account. I tested using Google.

After you log into Google run your script that just executes CLEAR and URL GOTO=www.google.com

Notice you're still logged into google or if you're logged out, your username is still there. Obviously the cookie isn't cleared

Conclusion CLEAR no longer clears cookies running latest FF and iMacros.

If you have auto-updates enabled for iMacros or FF you better double check the CLEAR command before running your bots. This bug has cost me quite a few accounts before I just discovered the cause.

Although i'm not sure if it will solve your problem. I haven't tried it but maybe you can have the imacro open into this new tab which will hopefully be clear of all cookies.

The clear command works fine for me, best practices when it comes to the iMacros clear command is to double it up, or even triple it up, sometimes it dose not work . Make sure that you have the new updates that they just released.

It works fine on my VPS's running FF 17 so I think it's something with the new FF. I'll try doubling up the command and see if that clears the cookies

UPDATE: Double CLEAR with a pause between them doesn't clear the cookies either. Ran through a 5 proxy loop with double clear on each loop with new proxy assignment and the cookie is still there with FF logged into Google after visiting from 5 different countries, running clear a total of 10 times.

Removing latest iMacros and reverting to an earlier version I know works on other VPSs I have running

You can also code it like this, to cut back on the time it takes.

CLEAR
WAIT SECONDS=0.2
CLEAR
WAIT SECONDS=.02
CLEAR

I just tested this a few times with the latest version of iMacros (v9) Enterprise Edition & just using the CLEAR command once without any delay, & it cleared them everytime, must be a firefox thing.

Confirmed the bug is with FireFox 19.0.2. I didn't revert back to FF 18 but went back to version 17 as my other VPSs run and the script correctly clears the cookies every time running the latest version of iMacros for FF.

So if you allow FF to update to the current version (19.0.2) the cookies will no longer clear with the iMacros CLEAR command. It would probably be a good idea to disable FF updates.

Do you have a link to share v9 ? I dl a copy but the rar is always corrupted (only 21of34gb)

BTW, is it beta? I cant locate on the iopus site.

Depending on how you control iMacros .... I personally launch it standalone ... then when my macro is finished running, I shell out to ccleaner. Both of these can be run from the command line and I've found using ccleaner instead of the CLEAR command is very reliabale and about 100x faster.
