[WARNING] Hackers found a new way to hack accounts

So today I got my instagram account hacked.
The weird thing is, it happened on a very weird way.
I got a normal phone verification on the instagram app which I completed with my own phone number.
5 minutes later I saw all my posts getting deleted. I quickly changed the password and it stopped.
Now the weird thing is: How did they hack via instagram their verification process..?
And why didn't they change my pass but only deleted posts.
I am quite mad atm lost some videos with almost 1M views and just alot of hard work..

It was a text to your phone number or on the actual app? Did you click a link to do the phone verification?
 
one of my small accounts 8k was hacked as well ... but nothing delete. no clue how they did it.
 
I think your phone got hacked to be honest dude. Reset it completly and change all of your pw´s afterwards.
 
Could be that my phone got hacked indeed, I didn't download anything on it so I wonder if it's the case and how they did it.
I'm putting it back to factory settings right now..

Yup, I have a huawai running on android, weird thing is that they didn't take my other 2 accounts which were connected on the phone aswell

I have huawei too ... seems like I need to change phone lol
 
I'm sorry to break it to you, but I think you got hacked by social engineering. Did you happen to check the actual origin of the email? Remember a lot of these campaigns get domains that are closely related to what the original domains will look like. Sorry about your troubles.
