WARNING: Bitcoin payments, Escrow and buying services over PM's

Well thanks Apricot for the information. is Bitcoin worth investing?

Is scamming on this forum common? A user offered me services, but was not willing to work upfront or use any kind of escrow services, and wanted 50% upfront in bitcoins.

If they were a standard member then report the conversation using the report button.

Scamming is not limited to this forum, it's literally everywhere.

If a seller insists on payments via BTC or bank transfer etc then just walk away. You will have absolutely no comeback if they scam you.

It was not on the forum, we switched to Jabber really quick. How are the trades normally done on here, is the freelancer willing to work upfront and show me some results for a payment, or will he deliver first traffic without payment so we can see he is legit?
I offered him multiple options like a part from our profits, part payment the day the first traffic comes in, escrow on a different forum, but he insisted on 50% first, because setting up the campagnes has a cost itself.
He said he is legit because he has an neteller gold account.
I wanted to get some of the users he worked with on the forum but at the end and I got nothing.

I mean report whatever interaction you did have on the forum. Or just report the users profile - if they are not a premium member then its against the rules for them to be selling and it also makes it far more likely that you will get scammed. If you need any more help or advice feel free to drop me a PM rather than starting a long conversation in this thread.
 
if there name is YELLOW - they can not sell on bhw
and if a yellow name pms you trying to sell something to you
just report them and ignore them, a high % of non payed not approved
users will try and part you with your money and run.
so avoid offers of anything to buy from a YELLOW name user.
 
DO NOT BUY FROM ANYONE OFFERING A SERVICE WITH PM --- This is a GOLDEN RULE.

You will get burnt, trust me!

Also, do not accept to review services for anyone. They will give you the service alright but remove your links once you must have placed a review. These scums are everywhere.

This is something we can look at providing in future if it appears necessary. Until then, use regulated escrow providers only - either a bank service, escrow.com or paypal arbitration (never use friends and family payments for services as you have zero protection).

Some of the accounts appear to have been sold or have changed hands - these are being investigated at the moment. For the meantime, keep yourself, your account and your money safe by doing the following:

Do not send money that you can't claim back. paypal's "send money to friends and family" service and bitcoin payments are irreversible. Using them leaves you completely unprotected.

Don't buy services from people contacting you via PM. If they haven't got a marketplace thread, we won't have checked the service. If they're advertising secretly by messaging you, it's because they don't want their services reviewed (or mods to know they're selling it)

Keep all discussions on the forum. Publicly if possible, via PM if not. If you go off the forum to conduct business, we cannot help you and we cannot deal with the scammer concerned to stop them doing it again.

Don't give your skype address out to people asking for it. If someone asks you for your skype address in a PM, do not give it to them unless they tell you theirs first. Most Scammers won't even give you their skype addresses but ask for yours to add you. Make sure you get them to confirm their skype address via PM first BEFORE starting any discussion. If they're genuine, they won't mind telling you their details.

sorry to ask you this but , if i pay a business that not registered will paypal ban my account .

what i am getting at if i pay for a thu accounts and they been reported as selling doggy accounts can my paypal be ban .

what do you suggest paying anybody to keep a account safe .

use a stelth use a pre paid card what ?

Thanks for heads up. And big but. Bitcoin buy is pretty much final. Have read that it is near impossible to get refund.
