Great information and sorry that you have had such a frustrating time with it.

Doesn't really make sense to have it set that way and I am sure that you are not alone in feeling the effects of that one.

Hi Ninjitsu,

I've already change my privasi setting to :
I would like my blog to be visible to everyone...

but my blog still did not index from google.
I still don't know why.
and I've already try the method on http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackhat-seo/white-hat-seo/92108-google-indexing-backlinks-really-quick.html
and still no result

Can you help me?

Hi ninjitsu again,

My blog just being index..
but the weird thing happen..
google only index the domain name and not the url of my blog post.
This is the first time it happen..
normally google will index the url of the post.

It still did not make any sense

no promotion, just added to google analytic, google webmster tools and submited sitemap, and added some google adsense adds :cow_yello:drinking2

Dude,

Relax and wait for it to be indexed.

Google once crawled your site and found that you had the setting on(block SE). So it will probably take longer for your site to be indexed now...but eventually, it will.

Is this silly f**king setting new to WP 2.8.4, or has it been there since the 2.8.x series?

this explains alot, thanks so much. lol i kept wondering wtf was going on with this. such a simple fix. i remember they use to ask with fantastico but no longer i guess, maybe because so many people setup wp blogs and never use them. who knows but thanks again
