warez link hosting = prison

Just read in a local newspaper (sorry, german) that a 22 yo guy from spain got jailed for 6 months recently because of a website hosting links with warez sites.
He asked 17k users to give him his email and used that and the site for advertisement (adsense, etc)

Just as an info for those of you interested in that sort of income, don't get caught. (or better: look for a less risky way to catch people than warez)

Im from spain.. He is not in jail cos it was his first "crime" (it's less than 2 years). This is the first time something like this happens in Spain, it is because the boy "accepted" what the prosecutor was demanding, (people here think that he accepted "money" as a way of promoting the anti-P2P laws). Our prime minister "Zetaperro" is trying to change a lot of thing in here.

Similar cases of webmasters offering torrents in their websites never had finished like this.

... Bewaehrungsstrafe ..., justone, also you don't know the english term for that :) ... no jail but however a stigma for your whole life. No, thanks: if you want to sleep in peace in western countries, don't do it. If you live in russia etc. then maybe you could give it a try. I personally would also not face towards off-shore-hosting, as all illegal activities could persecute you.

Why does Russia always come up when we talk about warez? lol.
 
So does that mean all warez sites that are now up are running from Russia or similar warez freindly country :D
 
i wonder how international laws work here, i'm also from spain, living in china, and hosting in usa ... could i get catch? O_o

I am from Russia.
And I know more hackers from USA and China but not from Russia.
And I have personally spent nearby 1000 USD for programs and licences only for last year. And how to you reports of the dear companies which show, what on a piracy occupy the First place USA?
I respect your opinion, but it very much not objectively.
So, if in another's eye see a mote, in the your eye it is necessary to notice a log all the same, misters.
I will not roll down on a politics is not on a theme - but let's not distort the facts.
 
hosting illegal software can be so danger....
scary~~but in china p2p and crack fly all over the internet...
no rules there..
