Wanted: Someone to help me get backlinks built inexpensively

I have a content site and some of the articles have targeted keywords that I believe I can rank for well in the search engines. I would like to build backlinks for those specific URLs. In other words, backlinks going not to my home page but to the articles themselves.
This may sound silly but... the cost is more than I anticipated. For example, if I have 50 articles and the backlink package is $10 for each URL, that's $500 Any ideas? Thank you!

You should be a bit more specific with what kind of niche market is it in (gardening, money making, insurance claims, etc.)

This way the freelancer can take a look at competition, etc. before taking up the project, and can give you the right price quote.

Bobby, thank you for responding, I actually have 3 sites in 3 different niches so I was going to discuss this with whoever will work on it. I am pretty new to this and since you are outranking that many competitors for your keywords (talking about your signature), I have a question for Bobby or anybody else that knows:
Do you have any estimates on the ROI for building backlinks to individual URLs on your sites? For example, say 1 unique article costs me:
$2 to write
$8 Social Bookmarking Service
$10 (maybe?) for some permanent backlinks on PR+ sites
So a total of $20...
How long will it take me to make that $20 back ON AVERAGE? This is assuming I am targeting a keyword I can rank for well in the search engines.
Sorry if this sounds silly - I know nobody can ever tell me how much money I'll make. But experienced people must have some estimates or averages across all their projects?
I know it also depends on how the site is monetized... Again, I am just asking for average. BTW, I am a statistics guy in the real world, that's why I pose the question this way Thanks!
