After thinking an awful lot I made a decision to start my own blog.

I got a name for the blog, the niche, what sections to make, what videos to make etc. Basically i have a written down plan. So the easy part's done.

Now's the hard part. As I am a total newbie, i want your opinion on some things.

    1. What is the best platform to place the blog at? I want to mention that I know nothing about building a website, so it needs to be with some sort of site-building tools. I looked at wix and blogspot so far but haven't make any decision yet. Also, I need a secure platform so I won't have to think about them hackers. And I should be able to make a sign-up form for emailing stuff to the interested audience.

Also the big question is how to export all the stuff on a stand-alone website when I'm ready to move. So before giving me any piece of advice please consider it.

    2. How many articles/videos should it be before I start some advertising?

    3. What are the best social media to use to, you know, spread the word?

    4. What instruments of attracting the audience should I use in the first six or twelve months? please note that I have no illusions about monetizing this blog, I know that it's going to be a hard work for at least a year before I'll be able to make any money out of it. I am ready for it.

    5. What's the best way to protect the content from getting it ripped off? I don't want to spend tens of hours to write something just to get it taken away by anybody.

    6. Let's say I run my blog for 6 months using social media to support it, what is an average audience number I should attract per month? What number is really good and what number is awful?

That's it for now but I'm sure that I'll ask a lot more after figuring out the basics.

P.S. I am deliberately not asking any SEO advice for now but if you got any useful info you want to share with me please don't hesitate.

    1. Self-hosted WordPress. It's easy to use, there are plenty of themes you can download (you can even make your own), and there are numerous plugins you can download to make the site easier to build. https://wordpress.org/

As far as I'm concerned, converting a WP site over to a custom one will require you to download the pages and add the content to the new site manually. There's probably an easier way of doing this, though.

    2. Some people do it right away and others wait until they have sufficient traffic. I used to do the former, although now I do the latter.

    3. Facebook, Twitter, YouTube. There are social media sub-forums here: http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackhat-seo/f77-youtube/

    4. I don't work with videos, but start doing SEO on the site from day 1. I have an on-page SEO guide you can use here: http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackh...nking-website-without-building-backlinks.html .

    5. You can add your logo to the corner of the videos and upload a copy on multiple platforms, but freebooters are going to rip your videos and re-upload them with lame captions and Facebook smileys in 144p regardless. http://vtrep.com/what-is-video-freebooting-can-i-prevent-it/

    6. I can't answer that one as I don't operate any video sites.

    Hi,

Zweil had a great response. I'd add G+ to the list of social assets that was provided. Nobody really uses it, but since it's a Google asset, it's crawled daily. That means you can attract the attention of the crawlers anytime you generate new content by blasting out a quick G+ update.

    Thanks for the answer zwielicht!

I should've mention it earlier, but I'm thinkin on doin articles w/ photos first, and make videos way later.

So the 5th question was about preventing the articles gettin ripped. I figured out that one of the ways is to spread it thru my own fb and twitter accounts. Should I write any terms and conditions of using the content by other people or it wouldn't do any good?

You can try putting up a TOS or disabling right-clicking on your website, but this won't necessarily stop a scraper or someone using Print/Screen from taking your content. The reality of it is that people will steal your content and use it for their own purposes.

I've had people take my content before, but most of the time they credit me as the source (I prefer a backlink, but I don't care as long as they mention that I'm the source). During those times that someone blatantly rips off my content, I don't do anything about it because my original article is ranking higher than their clone ever will.

Anyway, in the event that your content is stolen, you can use the tools below to take it down.

Yeah that actually is a thing to think about.

I mean nowadays the visitors don't waste their time on reading articles that either too big or too boring or too "whatever".

I read a lot about catchy headlines but what about the body of the post?

How should it look like? I understand that I shouldn't use, like, colored font or make it really big. Or at least use colors rarely.

Let's say we're talking about a new phone. Like an overview.

How many pictures should it be?

I mean, how many is too few and how many is way a lot? I'm tryin to think of what should I do to not overdose my future audience with any content :)

How often should I post the really big and quality posts, and what should I use in between? I mean like news, jokes, personal everyday experience.

Also I would like to see the links to very popular blogs covering different niches. If anybody follows such blogs, please do not hesitate to share!

Article length - It varies according to it's purpose. You don't want long paragraphs without visual breaks like headings or lists, people just aren't going to have the patience to figure out what you're doing.

Pictures - One of the most important reasons to include images in your article is to break up the text. For 1000 words articles you can use 2 quality related images or else simply one info-graphics to attract your audience.

Guys I got a question on social media.

I get how to use FB, Pinterest, Twitter, Google+ to promote the content.

But the way to use instagram in full really escapes me. I mean what if I have a post with just thoughts, or a study, or kind of article that doesn't need a picture or a video or anything else. Am I wrong thinking that it will be a mistake to post on instagram without using pics or any media for that matter?

Your blog must have 10-15 high quality articles for starting advertisements on your blog.
It depends on you how many videos you want to add in your blog. Always use unique articles on your blog. Try to promote more and more your blog before starting advertising on it.

Try to create best and unique articles for getting good rank of your blog.
Advertise your blog on different social media sites and then start giving ads on your blog. It depends on the articles to start advertising or not but it depends on the rank of your blog. You must have to add 2-4 videos on your blog.

Use WordPress to set up your site on a personal hosting. Add plug-ins like those who block more than 3 sign up attempts et cetera. Use some plugin like backupbuddy to back up your site once a week.

30 to 50 would be good.

    Code:
    3. What are the best social media to use to, you know, spread the word?
Facebook, Twitter and Instagram can be a start. The more, the better.

    Code:
    4. What instruments of attracting the audience should I use in the first six or twelve months? please note that I have no illusions about monetizing this blog, I know that it's going to be a hard work for at least a year before I'll be able to make any money out of it. I am ready for it.
Early traffic won't come from Google. Use Facebook pages to attract new visitors in your early stages. Your blog will start to get traffic. Improve and improvise.

    5. What's the best way to protect the content from getting it ripped off? I don't want to spend tens of hours to write something just to get it taken away by anybody.
You cannot deny people the right to use the info provided in your blog and rephrase it in their own words. However, once Google indexes your post, it's a waste to post that same content on any other site. Don't worry about that.

    Code:
    6. Let's say I run my blog for 6 months using social media to support it, what is an average audience number I should attract per month? What number is really good and what number is awful?

That depends on how much content you post on your website. Let's say, your site is very content rich with around 100 ? 200 good posts then nobody can deny you at least 1000 visitors per day.
