Want to register an Aussie domain ?

I know you need to be an Australian resident to register an Australian domain but is that all thats involved or do you have to provide business records etc.

And is there anyway around this ?

You also need an ABN (Australian Business Number).

I've gone through the process with brokerage clients when selling .com.au domains and my experience was that it is very difficult to get round (especially if you want to do it legitimately). I'm sure there are some BH ways but not something I would do with clients.

Thanks for the info. Yeah I wont be applying any blackhat magic on this, its for a legit business that a year or so off launching. Thought it would be easier for seo purposes to have an established website in place before launch.

Yea, same for many of the country specific .tlds, you need specific docs from the country itself. For .es they ask for your Spanish ID which you can only have as a resident.

Can I just copy any ABN number and use it during my registration? Suggestions?
