A few years ago, I watched a video from John Assaraf which explained how you can train your brain to make money. Now, after years, I’ve recently watched it again and it’s still inspiring me, so I wanted to share it with you here.
In today’s world, reaching financial success may look more difficult than ever but what if I tell you making significant amount of money does not require anything except your brain?! If you train your brain properly, you will be able to set yourself for achieving financial success and yes, it’s totally possible.
Do not look at this like an abstract or a too good to be true dream; this is totally a practical method with everyday actions of affirmations, visualization and setting the right goals to bring you financial success.
Here’s 5 steps you need to take to train your brain reache your financial goals.
Step #1- Make Your Financial Goals CLEAR!
The first step to transform your financial situation is to define what you mean exactly when you are talking about financial success. More clear goals help your brain become an ally in acting towards their realization.
You may just want to make money but how much… how long… you do not know!
When you don’t set a specific financial goal for yourself, it’s not possible for your brain to focus on a specific thing to get you what you want.
Let’s say you are aiming to make $100k in a year. It means, you should make $8500 per month or $2150 per week. Then you think that you are far from it right now, well, your goals are not about the present, it’s about the future! So having a specific target (daily, weekly or monthly) puts your brain in the learning phase then it focuses on the ways where it can bring that specific target (amount of money) into reality.
So, set an exact amount for yourself to let your brain targets it.
Step #2- Power of Affirmations
Second step is writing down a simple affirmation after setting your specific financial goal.
In simple words, an affirmation is a positive sentence that affirms something about what you want or what you believe in. In our case, the affirmation should be centered on the exact amount of income you want to achieve. For example, if you want to make $5000 monthly, the affirmation would be “I am very happy and grateful for the fact that I am making $5000 monthly now”.
Next, you should write it down and put it in a place where you see it every morning and every night. Then you should repeat the affirmation loudly 5 to 10 times per day. Why? Because you are training your brain! By doing this, your brain learns to believe and accept that the idea of having $5000 monthly income is a “real fact” not a dream, so it starts trying to bring it into the life.
Affirmations rewire your brain and get it away from doubts and fears and replace them with confidence and abundance. The more you affirm your goals, the more your brain tries to tandem with your goals and start providing opportunities and solutions to turn those goals into reality.
Step #3 - Visualization
Want me to give you a recipe for a magic potion? Mix the affirmations with visualization!
Visualization is a process whereby you mentally rehearse your goals. This means, you close your eyes and imagine the passive income dream you desire. For example, you repeat your affirmation “
you close your eyes and repeat your affirmations “I am very happy and grateful for the fact that I am making $5000 monthly now” then you close your eyes and picture that amount of monthly income for yourself. Picture it in your bank or PayPal account, see every single zero it has and look at it as an income that you already have, not something you should achieve in the future. Also, imagine how you feel when you have that amount of money.
How do you feel when you can support a family or donate a part of it to a charity? How do you feel when you can secure your financial life with that income? What’s your lifestyle dream you can have with that amount? Close your eyes and imagine all these things.
So what does it do with your brain? When you are visualizing your financial goals, you are telling your brain that this is a real scenario I’m having in my mind and because your brain cannot distinguish between reality and a well-visualized experience, it will be prepared for that metaphorically and starts to understand that what you pictured is what you’ve desperately want, so it goes for that.
Step #4 - Turn On Problem-Solving Feature in Your Brain
There’s a section in the left side of your brain called the “Prefrontal Cortex” which works as a CEO of your brain and it will be activated when you use the above magic potion (mix of visualization and affirmations).
Solving problems, planning and making decisions are tasks of this brain’s section. When you visualize your financial goals over and over again, the brain starts working to make decisions, plans and do everything that brings those dreams into reality.
Look at it like this: let’s say your brain is a powerful computer and your goals are the programme you are writing to command that computer. So you write a program like:
C:// $5000 comes to my bank account.
At this time, your brain starts working to find all solutions that can bring that command into reality. The solutions can be included but not limited to: making better financial decisions, finding business ideas that can boost your financial situation or searching for undiscovered financial opportunities.
By mixing affirmation and visualization, you will mobilize the problem-solving section of your brain which will bridge the gap between where you are now and where you intend to be.
Step #5 - Create Your Vision Board
By creating a vision board, you take your brain’s ability to the next level and it comes through visualization again. Make a collage of words and images that represent your desired life.
Cut pictures that represent the lifestyle you will have when you reach your financial goal ($5000 month in this case). This collage is something you work hard for and it’s something that inspires you every single day.
Ask these questions yourself:
Step #6 - Take Action on a Daily Basis!
All tools mentioned above help to start your brain’s engine, from visualization to vision boards, however, you need one more thing to get results in real life which is taking action!
Ask yourself: what can bring me my dream income in real life?
Then repeat the question every day!
This question picks you up from the dream world and puts you in the real world. It ensures that you are not just dreaming about your desired income but are real to take serious action to reach your goals.
Start with small steps which can get you closer to your financial goals. You don’t need to take much every day, small and consistent actions will lead you to big results over time.
It can be anything from learning a new skill to investing in yourself or even networking; anything that can take you one step closer to your targets.
Step #7 - Combining Mental and Physical Action Is Where the Magic Happens…
You can change your lifestyle or financial situation just by thinking, you need something more than that which comes through physical engagement.
You set your well-equipped mindset with effort then a miraculous outcome will happen. For financial success, the brain is the most powerful tool you have, so when you train it the right way, it becomes the biggest facilitator of any financial success.
Let’s take a quick look at all steps above:
Good luck : )
