Hey, I visited lowendbox on wednesday and found some good VPS deals. I was looking for cheap VPSes to send bulk mail and do some click tracking. I thought that lowendbox usually suggested good companies so, I purchased a cheap 512MB OpenVZ vps and a 512MB Xen one from 2 different providers. I know, I shouldn't have rushed into this! Guess what! The VPSes suck big time! The openvz one is damn slow, I get connections like 40KB/s max and I can't even get Mysql to start. These fuckers are really overselling this like crazy! The Xen one is totally broken. It has a SolusVM control panel and tons of templates. With some OSes I can't even login via ssh . After finally getting a working template, I type free -m into terminal and I find that only 250MB of RAM is free! WTF!? Where are the other 262MB? I typed ps aux to check which processes are running and guess what, nothing unusual is runnung! Fuckers probably created custom kernel for overselling memory as shown in this: Code: http://www.lowendbox.com/blog/how-to-tell-your-xen-vps-is-overselling-memory/ I sent multiple tickets to both providers. They did reply but they put me on hold for 3 days (until today)! I even called their phone numbers but I couldn't get anyone! :callyou: Weird... I already opened tickets and asked for refund but they haven't replied yet... Now all I want is to get my money back so that I can buy from better providers! I paid with Paypal and I thought that I could file a dispute to get a refund but I don't know if this is gonna work because I already came across this situation with BurstNET a while ago and I lost the dispute. So, any suggestions? Any guaranteed way to get my money back? Thanks, Josh
go to burst.net i got several vps with them works awesome great uptime about refund your money i really dont know
really you can,t do anything on digitsl goods. this is really bad in paypal send message to their support that you are going to post this on complaintboards etc etc if this issue not solved the same if happen with me before and this tricks worked Posted via Mobile Device
You paid them from your Paypal Balance or from your CC? If You used a CC, Dont file a dispute, file a Chargeback from your Bank!! (If File Chargeback after a Dispute, Paypal will fight against you to your bank!! - Saw this somewhere on the Paypal Help Pages!) ~ExP~
Yea I paid with CC. I've never done a chargeback before, maybe I'll call my bank tomorrow if the providers refuse to send me a refund amicably. Anyway, won't this get my paypal account disabled? Thanks, Josh
No, this wont! Chargeback is a buyer protection privilage! Well, Make sure you dont file a dispute in Paypal! If You do, Chargeback would do no good! Paypal is fighting scam buyers, so, if you file a dispute, fail in it, and then file a chargeback, they assume that you are a Fraud Buyer! Well, Chargeback isnt a big deal! Go to your bank, ask for the form for a chargeback, fill it, and submit! ~ExP~
Hey man, Sounds great! After years of doing online transactions I didn't know that filing a chargeback was so easy. To be honest, I got scammed many times; if I knew I could get my money back.... Thanks and rep for you! -Josh
