Want to get a iPhone 4S!! Will you help???

Hi Guys

I live in India and am planning to purchase iPhone 4S in the least costly way. So i need a bit of advice.

Here is the thing:

iPhone 4S(16 GB) costs $200(USD)(with AT&T contract ofcourse) in USA and $950(USD) in India. So i was thinking of purchasing the phone from online Apple Store with My brother's US Credit card(I have heard that you can't buy from Apple Store if you don't have US credit card). and then get it delivered to my (http://www.myus.com/) address.

I will ask the "My US" guys to put the Gift tag on the parcel and put the value of item under $100 (to escape customs in India).

What do you think Guys .. Will this work .. also While purchasing from my Brother's Credit Card will he automatically be subscribed to AT&T monthly subscription.. and if So what if he cancels it saying his card went missing

Advise please......

I'm guessing the iPhone 4s will be part of a contract and therefor require some kind of credit check; atleast it does in the UK, which I can't imagine you'd be able to pass with VCC and PO box.

The $200 price tag in the U.S. is for contracted phones. The unlocked version is $650 I think. You will not save much. Better to pay full price and save your brother or anyone else the trouble and potential embarrassment involved in trying to manipulate the postal system.

you can't buy an iPhone for 200$ nowhere on the planet right now. At least not without a contract

Well i know that and even if the unlocked phone is for $650 it still means you save $300.. but thats not the point.
i need to know if we can get the phone from US to india without signing the contract or not..

Last time I asked my brother to send a iPhone 3gs(recently launched that time).. It costed me $200(for iphone) + $50(some extra charges) + $145(Early termination fee on AT&T contract).
So the phone which was worth $750 i just received for $400

Only way you can get the iPhone 4S is buy getting it from the Apple webstore, they wont ship the phone outside the US with a contract on it, it's against Apple's terms. If they do it, you're very lucky!

I recently got an unlocked iPhone 4S from apple webstore (paid $650, I need it for business purposes) but definitely not worth the money... it looks and feels like an iPhone 4 and still has the same shit iOS design as the iPhone 3G! Siri doesn't even work outside the USA and can only do websearches or answer stupid questions!

In my opinion Apple is just hyped brand by stupid people who can't work with technology, I prefer Android or the new Windows Phone by far! If you need a Apple branded phone for any reason, just get an iPhone 4 (or 3GS)!

First of all,there is a contract involved at the $200 price tag.

Second,why not get it from India for 950$ and benefit from the warranty and all the cool benefits you have for 2 years?

In case you would have opted for iPhone 4S with contract then how would the billing be done.. Do you have to pay only $200 on apple webstore and then monthly rental later on..
Also do they ask you to put in your credit card for any monthly subscription or something???

I got a iPhone without any contract, that's why I paid $650 for it. But if you buy a iPhone with contract they bill your creditcard or other payment method they have availble. The problem you have is they won't ship it overseas, because to get a contract you need to be citizen and life in the USA!

That's the definitly the best smartphone at the moment, or get the Nexus Prime in a couple of days!
