Want A Man's Opinion

As a man I can tell you that society tends to coddle women. By default, men are presumed to be guilty. I've been there and done that. Had a girlfriend some years back that was brutally violent. She got pissed one day after an argument where she once again lost all control and left my place to return with two cops (1 male and 1 female) accusing me of beating her. I lifted up my shirt where she had clawed me like a tiger. She had no marks on her but I was bleeding so much it was coming through my shirt. Did the cops cart her ass to jail despite the evidence of her assaulting me? Fuck no. The cops had full intentions of taking my ass to jail but the visible physical harm I sustained was enough to for me to avoid being behind bars.

I don't believe in hitting a woman, but I don't believe in being clawed to death either. Society needs to change their attitude towards domestic violence. There are some crazy ass bitches out there!!!

There are two kinds of evil people in this world: those who do evil things and those who see evil things and don't try to stop it.

Mean Girls taught us a lot.

I know you're looking for a male perspective but I probably would have just called the police. There are women out there that take advantage of men that won't hit back. Then again, nobody can know for sure what was really going on. She could have just found out he was cheating. I probably would knock my husband out if he cheated on me lol. You just never know, best bet is to call the police. I wouldn't have gone out there either, it's too risky. She may have been crazy and hit you as well.

Some of you know that I'm a woman. Since a lot of men are here, I'd like to hear your opinions on this. Today, I was at my friend's little shop. I took scrap gold and silver and he melts it. The front of his shop is all glass. We were chatting away and we heard screaming, so I went to the glass to take a look. A man and a woman were arguing. She was screaming and crying, actually. He wasn't yelling. My friend was behind the counter going through the scrap and he wanted to know what was going on, so I kind of gave him a play by play. "There is a woman outside screaming and crying. She's fighting with a man." seconds later... "He just grabbed her arm. If he hits her, I'm going out there and saying something, then beat him." friend-"So will I. That's one thing I don't go for, a man hitting a woman." seconds later..."She just socked him!" He didn't hit her back. He seems awfully patient. I think he had just grabbed her arm to get her attention." seconds later..."Oh! She just kicked him in the family jewels. He's going down." friend "Ohhhhhhh that hurts." seconds later..."She left." Tonight I started to feel guilty and hypocritical. In my head, I know that domestic violence can work two ways. It's not always the man who hits a woman. It could be the other way around. I was ready to go out there and beat him if he hit her, and so was my friend who is male. But neither of us did anything when it was the woman hurting the man. I feel bad now. What would you do? Is there one sex you would go out there and stick up for, both sexes, or neither sex?

You did not do anything wrong and neither did you do the best you could have done. Sometimes if you think whatever you could do could have made you feel any better, then what you were supposed to do was worth it. You do not have to worry about what they might say...there is always a positive way of putting on things, as far as we have no idea of what the two might have gone through.
I personally believe, letting them know that it was not the right place to pick up the fight could have been reasonable. Next time they would be responsible enough to make sure they keep their stuff private so as not to put kind people like "redrubies" here under pressure of what to do. Do not worry, sometimes all it takes is the feeling of kindness and sympathy, not action necessarily. So cheer up, at least you felt responsible even though you did not have enough options by the time, we all know a lot who would not even feel a damn thing.

You should never hit a woman, but never allow a woman to hit you. I believe that was said by Sir Sean Connery.

As for Nigel, the irony of double standards with him and every other member is hilarious. Do what Nigel says, not what Nigel does...nobody said society is fair.

Here's advice to men. The day I stopped controlling the outcome of situations has changed my life for the best. If a woman/man is mad, let them be. Butting into their emotions and feelings instead of understanding to back off, is exactly what White Knights do when you're arguing, and some fuckhead with no relation to the situation gets involved. I would know...I've been turned on by my own family in ways that make weaker men grab knives.

......you're eventually going to get banned. there are ALOT of banworthy things in what you just posted.

they won't ban Nigel Farage, he makes this place interesting. And if they did I'd probably sit out a week too, because someone needs to keep the idiots in line, and the way he does always gives me a laugh.

Why I love you Nigel is beyond me. LOL But I die laughing every time you post, no matter how hostile your posts are. You just crack me the heck up.

Truthfully, redrubies, when I post I imagine the two of us are laying naked in bed together, after all the "sex stuff" is over with, and it's just you & me and the TV set blaring "The Bourne Ultimatum" in the background. It's just me and you in here, and I'm clowning for no other reason that to amuse you, and make you laugh. You and I are the only real people on this forum. Everyone else are imaginary constructs designed for the sole purpose of giving you & I something to talk about, and place in which to do it. These are the stories that I tell you after I have given you a wedgie with the bed sheets, and before I fart and force you into a Dutch Oven.

It's rank, and smells like moldy onions.

I am against ALL violence against women BUT as other's have said there have been times when I have stepped in and then had both the Woman and Man turn against me. Luckily the Police weren't ever called but had they done so I am sure the girl would have supported the guy and it would have been me nicked.

These day's I tend to stay out of other people's problems, UNLESS they are going overboard.

My responsibilities lie in providing for MY Wife and Son and I can't do that from a Hospital bed or a Police cell.

I used to say that I would never hit a Woman but these day's some Women act WORSE than men. I have seen lots of Women start fights or cause aggravation where guys end up fighting over them.
Some Women have started acting like Men, especially after a drink or two and these day's if a Women started causing trouble with me or attempted to start a fight with me then she will be landing on her arse after I have given her a good slap.My actions would disgust me but they would have been justified.

It is a sorry state but that is the world we live in now.

What would you do?

Mind my own business, if things got out of hand let the police do there job. Domestic violence is not something you want to get in the middle of. Those people have a history that you know nothing of, unless you want to become the one that the violence gets aimed at, then just call the cops and let them work. Or just stay out of it.
