After speaking to one of my friends recently, i realised something pretty significant....
After spending years trying to make an income online, countless hours spent writing shitty articles about shitty products, that quite frankly, i couldnt give a f**k about, money spent on bookmarking products, rss products, senuke, any old tool and product to make the job easier basically, i came to realise one thing...
There's a whole other world out there!!
Seriously, i bet each an everyone of us can take a step back for a moment, and be pretty taken aback as to just how many hours of your life you've wasted doing mundane tasks to better propell your online efforts...
Now i know some will defend their actions, even justify them by stating that they've made money here and made money there...., but can you really justify the hours wasted?. I read all the time about people who have ********* hours,days weeks and months to projects that have done nothing but earn them a few adsense dollars in the bank every month....
And the more reputable members would argue that once you've made your few dollars, then all you need to do is scale up and your sorted...but really, scale up?, im sure you'd have made a few mistakes along the way, financial mistakes, even strategic mistakes, that you can now avoid...but the bitter truth remains...that even taking these factors into consideration, and learning from these mistakes, outsourcing and automating these tasks still takes time and effort, and so you've got to really ask yourself if its worth it...
I once heard a saying, that people in the californian gold rush that made the most money, were not the ones who found the gold, but who were the ones that sold the maps and tools TO the gold....
Bear that in mind the next time you see something that offers all you need to succees in your online endeavours...is what your buying just another tool or map that you'll throw in the corner?...I remember buying senuke and was surprised to learn that a month later, i wasn't using it, not because i didn't believe that it would help, but because i felt a strange feeling of completition generated by knowing i had the tool. And im sure im not alone...how many tools have you bought that before you bought them, you thought...if only i had them i could.....(fill in the blanks)
So where is all this going?
Do yourself a favour. Get offline, go see some friends, do something nice for someone, take your kids out for the day, go fishing, take time for yourself.
Realise that until you actually add value to someone elses life, you will NEVER make money, not real money. Yes there are some that do, but if they can honestly tell you they enjoy promoting products and services that they do, then thats fine.
But a lot of the time people hate their current job and situation so much that ANY alternative that they find will do...until a few years later when they are staring at 100 domain names, thousands of dollars in software and an income that doesnt reflect or justify the work thats been put it, not to mention the fact that 20 hours a day on a computer doing something they have no interest in.
Find a way to add VALUE to people lives, find it by doing something you enjoy doing and not only will you make money, but you'll have a life to live too.
