I've been on egay for 7 years and have never experienced some s*it like this.

i bought a watch from this newly registered seller for $170. I send them a message a couple of days after i paid asking for a tracking number when they ship it. they respond a couple of days later, "I'm going to wait until the money clears I've never heard of this hold stuff". I politely explained to them about the hold policy and that the quickest way to their money is to send the watch as fast as they can and that there is no way i am waiting 21 for my watch. so i don't hear anything from them for a couple of days. so i'm getting pissed and start sending a couple more polite messages. they finally respond with the same answer from before. "i'll ship it when the money clears". told them "no, i want a refund. i don't have time to deal with people who clearly don't understand how to do ebay the right way." they don't respond and i send a couple more messages. there's other stuff that i can be doing with that $170.

so my 14 year old brother calls me last night about 1am and tells me that they sent me a message "bitch who the fuck you think your talking to ... i said i'll fuckin send it soon as the mother fuckin money clears .. you got a fuckin problem with that come see me".

he was more pissed than i was. i try to teach him to always be polite on ebay and how to handle buyers the right way (he sells alot of stuff too). he asked "can i cuss this bitch out"? i said fine. i don't care.

this morning i got up to look at the message he sent her," You listen here mother fucker you are the dumbass that thinks I am going to wait 21 days to get my watch. The fucking reason that paypal holds your money is so that new sellers do not screw people over like you are obviously trying to do. I don't want the fucking watch I just want my money back. You can sell the watch again and try to pull this fucking bullshit on someone else and watch them get pissed off to." i was quite impressed with the boy.

plus i opened a gaypal dispute. that will get them limited since it is their second transaction.

but i really just need my money.. there's other watches that i can invest it with the $$. i think i will just have to call this heffer's house. sometimes a phone call does it especially if i tell her what kind of car she drives and where he momma lives. that will freak her ass out.

Bad choice of actions on both parties.

Youll now be around 20-30 days without your money AND the watch.

OK, the Seller has signed up to GayPal's terms and conditions which generally requires dispatch within 7 calendar days, unless specified on the listing and there has to be a good reason for this such as personalised goods etc.

Furthermore, terms and conditions state the following (for UK anyway, may be different clauses for other countries...am not sure)

10.7 eBay Item Hold.

1.
1. PayPal, in its sole discretion, may place a hold on a payment you receive for an eBay transaction when PayPal believes there may be a high level of risk associated with the transaction. If PayPal places a hold on your payment, it will show as "pending" in your PayPal Account.

2. Release of eBay item hold. PayPal will release the eBay item hold after 21 days unless you receive a Dispute, Claim, Chargeback, or Reversal on the transaction subject to the hold. PayPal may release the hold earlier if the buyer leaves positive feedback on eBay.

3. Additional hold period. If you receive a Dispute, Claim, Chargeback, or Reversal on the transaction subject to the eBay item hold, PayPal may hold the payment in your Account (or an amount equal to the relevant payment) until the matter is resolved pursuant to this Agreement.

I would also be inclined to lodge a complaint with egay and forward them copies of the abusive emails. (EDIT: Maybe not, just realised they were possibly texts and also your bro gave as good as you got!!)

I don't believe you had any other course of action other than to raise a dispute with GayPal in the circumstances.

To be honest eBay is gay and I agree with both the seller and the buyer. It really is a piss take especially when you sell something and you need the money fast, that is why I no longer allow PayPal in my auctions because it's pure bullshit.

Sorry but I wouldn't send an item until I received the payment. So you send the item only to find that Paypal returns payment to buyer after the hold period! Them terms are crazy.

they are probly drop shipping and cant even order your watch until the payment clears.

it was a used watch. if they don't want to ship, that's fine with me. but they had no reason to cuss me out and refuse to refund my money!!!

I hate how paypal holds the money because I dropship and some times I don't have enough money to put out for the item

Really? In the UK it's compulsory to offer GayPal as a payment method...just assumed it would be the same for everyone....

Accepted Payments Policy

eBay wants to ensure that the marketplace offers buyers safe, appropriate and convenient payment choices for the marketplace. eBay requires all sellers listing on eBay.co.uk to offer payments through PayPal (with some exceptions set out below). PayPal is not only convenient to use, but it also offers buyers and sellers protection assistance against fraud, chargebacks and theft of financial data.

Mind you...the last bit is a joke...especially if you are a seller!!

an update....i called this heffer on her daughters cell phone. boy did she sound surprised. i have my blackhat methods of extracting cell phone numbers for people. i knew that would freak her out to call her on one of her relatives phones. she said she would look into doing a refund. she didn't do shit so my brother called her the next day and she said she couldn't figure out how to do it (dumb bitch). anyway she did not respond to the paypal complaint and i got my money back. oh and by the way....she did this shit to someone else before me on the same watch.

Next time anything happen like this, just call your credit card company and get a chargeback, no need take any bullshit back and forth from these kind of people.

I usually wait to send off merchandise till money clears when I sold on ebay. I have never had anyone asks me to send an item prior too. So I guess I am on the opposite side here.

Glad the OP got his money back though.

you can thank paypal for this....my guess is the guy was dropshipping the watch which is why he had to wait for the funds to clear...

and to be honest, there is no guarantee that the buyer won't do a chargeback/cc dispute after they recieve the watch

so i can see the case from both sides, although, the seller should hav been more polite

i can understand the seller not wanting to ship to me until they had the money. but when i told them i would not wait 21 days for the watch they should have just sent me a refund instead of cussing me out.
