VPS vs VDS Whats the difference?

I was shopping for a VPS, looking for xserver.eu when I came across xservers.eu who offer the VDS. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with xservers and or running SB, SeNuke etc on a VDS. This is what I'm looking at:

Your comments and opinions would be appreciated. I'm trying to get something set up asap. Thanks in advance.

This is what I found so far:

A virtual dedicated server provides the facilities of a completely isolated virtual server. One of the major differences it has in comparison to a VPS is the ability to run multiple operating systems. A VPS does offer better performance than a traditional shared hosting platform, but is prone to more performance issues than its VDS counterpart. This mainly occurs when a multitude of users are hosting on a single machine. In this environment, bandwidth and memory allocation can be affected by other virtual servers, whereas a VDS ensures that these resources are available, just like having your own server.​

Im just wondering if there is any truth to the performance benefits or is it just clever marketing. Particularly interested in hearing from someone who has actual experience using the VDS.

i thought both are the same. or are you talking about semi dedicated when you say vds? you have a specific amount of resources allocated to a vps, but when using a semi dedicated you share a server with a few others and can only hope that they respect the fair usage policy of the dc.

Im talking about a virtual dedicated server. This is what xservers has to say about resources:

On a dedicated virtual server (VDS) the hardware resources can be shared and guaranteed for each client, as opposed to the VPS servers where the processor and ram are "shared" for all users and their access to hardware resources is competitive.

A dedicated server is a piece of hardware dedicated to you only.

VPS is a virtual machine on existing on a piece of hardware hosting multiple machines (edit: operating systems).

yeah Im aware of that but Im not talking about a dedi, referring to a virtual dedi which is different. Anyone use this or any other xservers products?
