hey do you prefer to host 100 little websites?

    unlimited webhosting:
    - costs
    + security
    +support
    +expensive ssl
    +no setup needed

    vps:
    +costs
-security (have to update/secure by myself)
    +speed(?)
    -bad neighboor problem?
+ free ssl certs possible (free ssl rank such good as payed ones?)

I'd steer clear of unlimited web hosting, could be oversold and thus problematic. I'd definitely be going for a VPS, you can always add more resources if you needed to.

You can also get free SSL certs with either option through Let's Encrypt. Not all shared hosting companies will have it included (I do) but quite a few will off them as part of the service. With a VPS you can still get the for free, just a little more configuration on your side to get it done.

if you are talking about 100sites or so than the your choice should be a vps/dedicated server depending on your traffic and website structure.
