VPS vs shared hosting question

I have a few completely different sites on a shared hosting plan, all but 1 of them are there as "addon domains".. I was wondering if it'd be better to host them on a VPS, each on a different IP?

if you have only few domains with low traffic, shared hosting is good.
if you have 5 to more domains or few domains with large amount of traffic, I suggeest you to buy a VPS.
you can buy a good vps for 5$-6$

Due to the fact that everyone is out of ip(v4) addresses, having a lot of websites share an IP isnt a problem. Think about all the people who just get a simple hosting play. They are all on a virtual server sharing a few IP's. Matt Cutts has even verified this in one of the webmaster tools videos.

Now if you are using these website to link to each other to build the rank of a particular page or site, then I would not have them on the same IP...
