So I'm in need of a VPS server that will allow me to run a php script that curls through a proxy to scrape/post/etc...

I hit up a bunch of the bigger names but they all told me NO PROXY STUFF ALLOWED. I'm not trying to run a web proxy or mail or any crap like that, just running a few scrapers.

Anyone have any recommendations? I've got a medium-sized budget.

how silly. dont ask them, just do it. its a php script running on a virtual install of linux you have root to lol. you can run whatever you want. even if they dont want you to they will be very hard pressed to have any idea you're doing it.

Check under the services for sale section to find a VPS to fit your needs.

That's not what they mean by no porxy. You don't need to setup a porxy on your own server, curl uses the server's ip anyway. If curl is connecting to porxies then it's none of their business, they're not theirs.

Try SLHOST, they let you run any type of proxy.

I pay $130 every 6 mths for my VPS with them and they let me run just about anything on there.

Think their sales people heard proxy and that was it - ignore them :)
I wold say 99.9% of hosts would do you - I can recommend Wisehosting.co.uk, I have a NL, UK and US VPS with them :)
