I've been running GSA on my VPS (hostwinds) and they just suspended my account for outbound DDOS attacks.

I'm using proxies so not sure what the problem is...

anyone have a recommended VPS service that allows GSA?

which vps provider are you using ?

some prominent ones here are - powerup,greencloud,solidseovps vpswindows.biz .

using hostwinds, previously burst.net. thanks for the recommendations I will check them out

Sharkservers been good to me so far even though we had a rocky start. But everyone endures problems.

Have you tried contacting support?

If this wasn't your fault then I'm sure they can reinstate it. Try doing that before moving to another host to avoid wasting your money.

Use SEO VPS there should not be any problem.

Which VPS you were using & suspended for using GSA ?

You are not alone. I experienced the same too.

Yes they did suspended my VPS saying my VPS is sending outbound DDOS attacks. I installed the Microsoft Security Essentials for 2008 server and ran a scan and also few more scans from Microsoft. All came clean. Then they unsuspended it.

After few weeks of that incident in past few days, again they came up with some web based report that my VPS Ip was flagged as blocked. Even the report said, the last incident was one month before. I checked the other tools online for possible blocks such as mxtoolbox, everything clean.

So decided to stay clear of them. and took another vps from another company and ported all my data. Now I wont renew this month with HOSTWINDS. I thought I was the only one affected now you too.

Yes I did contact the support and it took a half day to solve the problem. So yes I can't afford to spend my time with support every 10 days half a day for making my side clear.

Note: there was no problem in the first two months. Suddenly in the third month they started suspending my vps twice.

Just go to greencloud and you'll be fine

I have got my VPS from HostStage, they have BST here, quite happy about speed and I did not face any downtimes so far, no soft issues

I used to have one VPS but very very slow, and take ages to open a page or program.

How fast of VPS depends on my local Internet connection speed or VPS itself setting??

I am intending to buy another one now....

cheers

Dude, FFS. Stay away from Hostwinds, especially their VPS and shared hosting! They have a very outdated hardware.
I've used them before. I had lots of f****** downtime.
Anyway, I'm not affiliated with any of their competitors. I'm just saying this based on my own personal experience as their old customer.

You've been warned.

Did you have the setting in GSA to stop doing anything when there are no available proxies?
I know that by default GSA will keep posting even when all of the proxies stop working - I almost got my hosting account banned for this reason - when the proxy addresses were temp blocked, GSA would start posting from the servers IP by default...
