VPS Recommendations

Can someone recommend a good vps? I signed up for knownhost, but the screwed up everything and my main site has been down (intermittently) for the last 24 hours. This is kind of frustrating, because their shared hosting has been nothing but stellar.

webhostingtalk.com is THE place on the net for all things server/hosting related. just check the VPS offers forum for thousands of offers from various hosts & then use the forum search function to research the provider.

Personally i think all VPS suck [dosn't matter who the provider is] & your best getting a cheap dedicated server for a few bucks more

I use hostforweb for more then 4 years.
First with shared hosting, then VPS and now I'm on dedicated.
Excellent support and service.

I'm assuming you want a managed VPS since that is what KnownHost provides. Here are some considerations:

ServInt.com - The most similar to KnownHost since they give you the base OS and manage it from there.
WiredTree.com - They give you the base OS + bunch of other stuff: preconfigured IPTables, mod_security etc
LiquidWeb.com - Similar to WiredTree

If you do not need a managed VPS, you may wish to consider:

Linode.com
SliceHost.com

screw vps's, volumedrive.com - get yourself a cheap dedi and you wont have a box that slows down during peak hours!
