This is interesting and I wonder how it happened. What I don't understand is why my vps ip is banned from accessing livejournal.com especially when I was using proxies with SB to search for expired domains.

So what happened exactly? I mean, we all know that you shouldn't be search/scraping without proxies or at least I have always used elite proxies for this. The question is, why was my vps banned from accessing livejournal.com shortly after searching for expired domains there? Somewhere my ip address leaked out but how.

This has me wondering if my ip address is banned elsewhere.

Your VPS IP might have a previous spamming history. It happened to me once when i was renting a dedicated server somewhere.

My problem was major tough, because i was banned from google search :p

That's possible but probably unprobably in this case. Im renting this server though a private party. Its not a web hosting co and the ip address was bran new. Iv used it for 6 months with very light usage. I really think it leaked out. What a coincidence. I use it for searching livejournal expired domains then when I visit the site my ip is banned.

Also, is there a reason why SB asks if you wish to use your proxies without testing everytime? I mean, iv run the test a few times on my proxies but SB keeps asking me the same question every time. Eventually I ignored the test and just ran it.

To many lookups from your IP?

Your ip range is blocked for abuse reasons?

Its unlkely you are banned for no reason, and if you don't know why then its likely due to them banning your ip range.
