VPS Help

A friend of mine and myself are about to start on a JV and since we are gonna use the same tools, I found out that you could upload your tools to a VPS and basically run them in your VPS. I'm a newbie when it comes to VPS, so the following questions came up.

Can anyone please explain me what a VPS is and its functionality?
Can I upload my tools into the VPS?
If so, can my friend use them even though I own the VPS?
Can I host websites on the VPS?
Which VPS do you recommend?

Help would be appreciated and thanks for your time.

A VPS is a remote server that you can connect to using remote desktop. From there you can upload your tools and install them, just like it was sitting right in front of you. Yes your friend can use the VPS and the tools as well. And you can host websites on a Windows VPS. I would recommend.....us!

Since I'm a newbie for this, do you guys have good support? Any restrictions?

VPS: Virtual Private Server

You can do whatever you choose, however some providers do have some restrictions.

Anyone have any comments on running a windows VPS, using remote desktop on a mac? I am looking to move all of my windows apps offsite.... and a VPS sounds really nice.

It all depends on the VPS specifications and also the provider.

There are few things to keep in mind when choosing a good vps

1. budget
2. CPU
3. RAM
4. Connection Speed
5. Bandwidth

There are more but I have included 5 to help you choose
