VPS for 1k Squid Proxies?

Probably going to set up 1k squid proxies. How many VPS's would I need to run those safely?

anybody? would really appreciate any info on safely creating a large amount of proxies

Hi, personally I run 1 dedicated machine per 1024 addresses. I haven't tried with VPSes though as it would not be reliable enough in my opinion. That is if you want to guarantee uptime without hiccups. With vpses you are depending on other users.

Appreciate your reply. What exactly do you mean by "machine"?

there are many basically get a Dedicated Machine better also your usage depends too.

1k Ips are good enough must need stable machine to handle those.

it simply means you should get a dedicated machine/device/computer instead of a VPS.

There isn't really a "machine" to recommend.

It's more about the specs you want.. because you have full control of the machine that you are getting you should try and discover the requirements to drive your process.

You need to consider things such as RAM, storage space, CPU, PSU and NIC.

Since you are running proxies you will need a multitude of NICS and little storage unless you will provide a cache.

I'm not sure what the CPU requirements will be but if you have a lot of connections then the NIC & Line will more than likely be the bottleneck.
