VPS?? Do I really need it?

Hey guys I have been seeing a lot about vps. I kind of understand the benefits of it but at the same time my computer seems to have better specs than most vps.
Is there a good reason why I should use it. Here are my computer specs (I built it myself)

i7 quad core processor (Overclocked)
16 DDR3 High Performance Ram (Overclocked)
260G SSD (Main Boot Drive)
1TB HHD (Storage) Split into 3 partitions
500G HHD (Storage)
250G HHD (Storage)
100mbps Internet connection

So do I really need it????

Try playing games or something + runing GSA SER + UD at the same time and you will get your answer. You forgot to mention the most important spec: internet connection speed.

It's up to you to decide, but I rather have VPS to do the heavy tasks.
 
I did mention internet speed. Last spec
 
I usually run A music production program (Cubase) photoshop, Power director (video editor) and GSA in the background while doing media production and never any problems. Computer ever slowed or freezed
 
I'm not sure the ramifications of your electric bill if you were to leave your computer running day and night (which most SEO software requires), but I know for myself it is cheaper to rent a VPS rather than pay my increased electric bill.

Also, some software such as Sick Submitter can leave you vulnerable to virus attacks when using it. I'm not a networking pro by any stretch of the imagination however so I don't know if there are firewall breaches or ports that get opened which shouldn't be, but I do know that none of that will affect me by running my programs on a VPS.
 
From my personal opinion, I think you don't. just please make sure to ALLWAYS use proxies, and get your ass super-covered.

I have all my equipment connected to a High Quality power supply made for Recording and media production equipment which is also what I use. I have left the computer run overnight a few nights but never seen a drastic change in electric bill. But I want to leave the software running all night every night so using VPS would help save me money on electricity

I have about 100 proxies now and planning on buying more. thanks for the replies guys.
