Hi,

I'm currently using HostGator and another hosting provider's shared plans to do my wprobot-based sites.

However, I'm finding these sites to be very slow despite using WP Super Cache.

Perhaps it's time to upgrade?

So I'm thinking of using a Linux VPS. Thing is, the reason I separate my sites into different hosting providers is to minimize risk; if G deindexes a site and all the sites in the same ip, my other sites on the other hosting service isn't affected.

Question: If I do get a VPS and get additional IPs to run on the same VPS, so that every few sites share one IP only, will there be the same risk? Or do I require a different class of IP address to be safe?

google not deindex an IP but a domain....
example:
10000 domains are hosted on free hosting that has the same IP so if one of them get deindex.... all other 9999 deindex to???!!!

so... I suggest you to buy a vps with only a IP... you can use multi IP if you want linkweel them ;)

G will usually deindex on other factors not just the IP, but the same IP will make it easier to find all the sites

that's why I moved from shared to VPS - because site traffic grow and with more autoblogs more resources available

my vps from wiredtree comes with 8 IP addresses - so I understand what the other guy said - but I believe if you have them then use them

so I'm seperating sites on the different IPS

4 are in one range and 4 are in another.

how many sites did you have before you decided to move from shared to vps?

Ok, I'll be searching with this in mind then. Formerly I was placing quite a lot of importance on the costs of additional IPs.

That's what I wanna avoid...

Anyhow, what's a base spec I should be looking at for running wpr-based wordpress blogs?

buddy,

G will not deindex when it comes to the IP. As zx123 said, if that was true, g will have to de index loads of other domains on the same IP.

specs depends on your traffic. make sure you get atleast 512MB and 1ghz processor. But i cant comment without knowing traffic and wp plugin
