Hi I'm a UK based Mac user looking to install Bet Angel sports trading software. Their software is Windows based so I need a UK VPS.

Low latency is essential for split second timing. Looked at EDIS Global their London server 1.8 m/s latency which seems excellent, but their Advanced Plus package euro 19.99/month provides 6TB of traffic so unsure if this is enough maybe it is? Bet Angel provides a VPS service but it's £39.99 /month.

Bet Angel hardwired requirements re low at 1.5GHz processor, 4Gl memory, 50Mb disk space.

Can anyone advise if the EDIS VPS seems like a good deal, or can anyone recommend better. It needs to be reliable due to money being on open trades.

Thanks.

My advice is as follows:

1. Technical Suitability

The EDIS Advanced Plus plan, with its 4 vCPUs, 8GB of RAM, and a 200GB SSD, far exceeds the minimum requirements for running Bet Angel (which only needs a 1.5GHz CPU, 4GB of RAM, and 50MB of disk space). This means you’re getting more than enough power to ensure smooth performance, even during peak trading times when the system might be under heavy load.

When it comes to latency , EDIS really shines. With an impressive 1.8ms latency for London-based servers, this is crucial for traders who need split-second execution on their trades. Honestly, I was blown away by how fast this is—it almost feels too good to be true. In the world of betting and trading, every millisecond counts, and EDIS delivers on that front. If you’ve ever had a trade slip through your fingers because of lag, you’ll appreciate just how valuable this kind of speed can be.

2. Traffic (6TB/month)

For most traders, 6TB of monthly bandwidth should be more than enough. Unless you're streaming video or running some other heavy, non-trading-related tasks, Bet Angel’s data usage is typically pretty low—mainly just orders and market updates. To put it in perspective, 6TB translates to about 200GB per day, which is way more than what most traders would need for their daily operations.

That said, if you’re someone who likes to run multiple bots or scripts alongside Bet Angel, it’s worth double-checking your actual usage. I’ve seen some users underestimate their needs, especially when they start experimenting with additional tools or software.

3. Cost vs. Reliability

At €19.99 per month , EDIS is definitely an affordable option. However, before committing, make sure they offer:
  • Dedicated resources : You don’t want them cramming too many users onto the same server, as this could lead to sluggish performance during busy periods.
  • Uptime guarantees : Look for promises about how quickly they’ll fix issues if something goes wrong. A 99.9% uptime guarantee is standard, but check the fine print.
On the other hand, Bet Angel’s own VPS service costs £39.99 per month, which is almost double the price. But here’s the thing: you’re likely paying for a service that’s specifically optimized for their software, along with specialized support that understands the ins and outs of Bet Angel. If reliability is your top priority and you’re willing to pay a bit more for peace of mind, Bet Angel’s VPS might justify the premium. Personally, I’d lean toward Bet Angel’s offering if I were managing large sums of money and couldn’t afford any downtime.

4. Key Considerations

  • Setup : With EDIS, you’ll need to manually set up Windows and install Bet Angel yourself. This isn’t a huge deal if you’re comfortable with tech stuff, but it can be frustrating if you’re not. Bet Angel’s VPS, however, might come preconfigured, saving you time and effort. If you’ve ever spent hours troubleshooting a setup issue, you’ll know how much of a headache this can be.
