Hi I'm trying to get a cheap VPS to run 2 bots on 24/7 and lighten the load on my main computer. How much ram do I need? I've heard you can run windows stuff on a linux vps with some tweaks, but not sure if that's too complex for this being my first VPS and all. Basically I'm just looking for some better information, trying to find a bargain, but I don't want garbage.

My second question is how do I keep my main accounts from getting locked when they're being ran through bots on a VPS, do I need to input my home IP adress in the software? I hate getting accounts locked, and am looking for a truly automated solution.

Thanks for the help guys appreciate it.

What kind of bots are you running? The specs required depends on the bots' requirements. Lightweight bots would just need a starter VPS.

And as far as I know, you cant use your home IPs for the bot running in your vps unless you make your ip to work as a proxy. In that case, all the traffic would pass through your home computer. This setup would be a bit complex.

It's 2 rootjazz bots tumblr & soundcloud I'd be running there, they're not too heavy, but combined with the other stuff i do my computer is over used. So could i enter my IP as a proxy hypothetically? I just don't want to lose any of my authority accounts because tumblr thinks someone in Europe for instance is using them.
