VPN's Could be Getting Banned?

While @Yes, there are so many plenty new anti-privacy laws coming into affect in the past few years
Banning VPN entirely sounds like dumb move from whoever is calling the shot's side.
Like the article says, there are many usages of VPNs and here is just a example.
There is a type of VPN called GPNs, to help lower's a gamer's in-game ping to play a game more competitivity or to be able to actually enjoy the game with a decent # of ping.
Probably heard them right, mudfish, exitlag you name it.
To combat "VPN", are they willing to fuck over that entire category & it's industry? probably not (but that's just my own opinion).

That's just 1 type of VPN, another type is Site-to-Site VPN where you build an intranet or basically providing multiple users in various fixed locations with the ability to access each other’s resources.
A common VPN service used by companys for remote workers.
So yeah, I highly doubt VPN entirely will be gone, it would probably be more towards the way it has been used.

Anyways, my thoughts on it so far, they have way too much to lose and the trust in everyone in any state/country to ban VPNs entirely.

From what I've gathered......the reason they want to ban VPN's is so everyone's online activity can be tracked and traced.

Your online activity will be tied to your digital I.D and CBDC's.

Be a naughty boy and you'll be caught and punished.

Yeah, I heard pretty much the same too but a much better ways to do it like legislated a bill towards a VPN company or your ISPs.
Banning a tool of this magnitude where so many different type of people use it for so many different type of reasons would just sow discord and chaos.

I think it will cause chaos too.

We need the proxy guys on here to start working on solutions to this if they bring it in.
 
I think the chances of this act being passed as an actual law is very slim and the people acting like it's already a reality are very naive.

I wouldn't be too sure.....

It will be sold as "protecting" people online and a lot of people will think its a good idea
 
The wording they use on the Act itself would be crucial as to what exactly it'll do and affect. It's still so far just word on the grapevine and these things, as far as US goes, tend to warp and change before they pass into legislation. Could be something but could just as well be nothing. Makes for a great headline though.

Although, VPNs have been heavily shafted over on India and Huawei has already lost graces on Canada. These are reasonable precedents. Still remains to be seen, I think.

There are a lot of errors in this sentence, bro, don't smear our own countries anymore.

A ton of VPNs work in China, government typically ignore VPN users, just don't be a fxxking spy or smear our countries online, then you are absolutely safe. There are 1-2 news stories about people getting caught when using VPN, that's bullshit fake news, just to scare people don't use VPN to browser misinformation and harmful things, too many stupid fellows just believe everything online so this measure is for that. You see, a lot of people use it everyday, that's okay!

There are also so called government approved VPN, its business plan costs a lot per year only for cooperation usage, you can't even apply for it for being a single man. It's not like you said in this case, also, you can set up a VPN and it will works in most cases, just not all IP ranges work though, there are a lot of tutorials online how to set a VPN yourself.

Last, the so called Chinese firewall doesn't block all western sites, on the contrary, it only blocks several big social media websites like Google, twitter, facebook, instagram, youtube, etc. And 99% western sites can visit without any problems.

So people misunderstood GFW too much, just too much. China is not a devil, just go here and see with your own eyes.

Yep, some really bad stuff going on......
 
tiktok is very sensitive to IP restrictions. A normal VPN will definitely be restricted, you need to use a residential ip
