VPN vs Proxies?

Hey guys,
I'm a huge noob when it comes to this type of stuff.
Anyways, after a bunch of reading around, I found that it is crucial to have proxies and/or vpn.
My main goal is creating multiple Youtube accounts and uploading multiple videos.
So, which is the better way to go? VPN or proxies?

The VPN approach is better in this case, because now websites are using smart javascripts, cookies and all kinds of scripts to detect if you are using a proxy and what is your real ip address, but if you are using a VPN you will bypass their security searches and you will be safe.

So I signed up for strongvpn and apparantly I can only use 1 ip address.
Am I still limited then to how many accounts I can create and how many videos i can upload?
If not, i was thinking of also buying proxies and use them with vpn. That way I can get more various ip addresses. Will that work too?

Hey who told you to get VPN lol, you need proxies for account creation :) You can go ahead and purchase from me.
 
The purpose of Strong VPN is to hide your real IP and to bypass site restrictions for example in college or if you reside in the UAE. It doesn't really serve your purposes as you need multiple IP's for account creation therefore look into proxy lists or some private proxies.
 
Maybe you can change the server on which you connect, by clicking on another country or so. Check for a similar option in the StrongVPN client. It will be silly for them to assign a fixed ip to you.
 
VPN protects you from immediate snooping but is not convenient for IP switching
I beleive the VPN IP will be dynamic - so you can refresh and get a new IP
Proxies are the way to go
 
Proxies for convenience, VPN for price. HMA VPN would be my choice if you were to go on that route.
 
Proxies: Hide your real IP from basic checks, generally good enough for Account Creation and some Geo-restrictions like around Video sites however it can be detected through clever use of JavaScript or Flash. Your activity (over HTTP) can be seen by your Internet Service Provider, as well as Government-installed monitoring systems.

VPNs: Create an encrypted "tunnel" to the other end, where all your traffic emerges. Your ISP/Government will just see one encrypted connection between your computer and a VPN server. Nothing can be done within a web browser to detect that you are using a VPN connection from your computer.

However, in both cases the IP you "appear" to be (from your proxy/vpn provider) might be known to the site you are accessing and they may choose to block everyone using HideMyAss for example. In this case going for smaller & unknown Proxy/VPN providers is better because they're less likely to have been blocked.

Last but not least, if you want to properly hide your identity either:

a) choose a VPN provider that doesn't keep any logs (HideMyAss will sell you out at the drop of a hat), try providers in other countries.

b) use the free TOR network, sure its a bit slow .. but its a safe way to hide your identity behind several layers of anonymity.

With Strong VPN you'll have several locations (IP's) to choose from, so you can switch your IP with the press of a button.
But if you need A LOT of addresses, proxies will be the way to go.
 
Nice tread i can learn from this. Not to spam the OP .
i am using ubuntu linux and i have the option to use vpn in my connection settings.
If i buy a dedicated VPN . Will everything i do have that ip ? Like poker software etc not just my browser ?

According to me, VPN is the best way in getting a lot of accounts on youtube at the same time or within a day, because VPN also change your real IP which is important to hide, whereas proxies didn't change your real IP and authority website detect him now days.
 
sounds good ... just wondering do i still need a proxies or VPN for youtube account creation when i have a dynamic IP ?
