Why when I use HMA VPN (using a proxy in another State) does Google still show my actual location (in Google Local Listings) when I search for a keyword. In other words it diplays results for San Francisco (where I live)when the VPN proxy is meant to be in New York? Surely if I search for "Dentists" it should display the local listings for New York?

Your ISP IP is leaking. A known issue with OpenVPN based services.

Has anyone else noticed this with Hidemyass VPN?

HMA VPN is not open, it's paid and as far as I know it does not leak. While I am on this can someone really clarify the big difference between VPN vs VPS vs PROXIES.

From my understanding all are supposed to help shield your original IP. Is this assumption correct? I ask because I worry that HMA VPN may not be enough.
