Volunteering In Ghana!

Hello everybody,

My name is simon harker and on the 2nd of december i am travelling to ghana to volunteer for 4 weeks. I have everything booked and am all ready to go but i am just looking for some last minute funding for stationary etc to take for teh children and also for building materials so i can take part in building projects while out there.

If anybody would be so grateful as to donae just a dollar or 2 then please message me about this project

without sharing more details and proof, i might think this is just an another crappy attempt to scam few $.
 
Sounds like bullshit. Why would you need to fund the building materials? If your doing this through a proper volunteering agency then they take care of that.

yea, sorry buddy if it's for real, but it sounds exactly like those scam emails which are coming from that continent where are you planning to go now...
 
I feel bad for you if this is genuine, but at the same time if it is genuine then you're short changing the children in Ghana by a) not getting the funding sorted out well in advance and b) looking for it in all the wrong places. At least grab a clipboard and some evidence and hit the local town to ask people in person - this smacks of laziness.

OP, join a charity if you truly want to volunteer or get your friends/family/community to fund you.
 
you might be legit, still , you are not asking for a donation in a clever way. Either way, i am out of this topic.
 
Hey dude,

Check out the Peace Corps when you head to Accra. They should be able to assist your teams' efforts after you arrive. I had an offer after undergrad to head there, but went to Dominican Republic instead for dos anos. Best of luck!

You do realize this is a Blackhat forum right? You know if I was collecting for the Girl Scouts the last place I would go to is a biker's bar, do ya capeche?

some of the mods signatures are for a Greek animal rights group...instead of thanking them it asks at the bottom for anyone to donate.

and good luck man. i had a friend go for a year to ghana, just be careful - thats basically all she said when she came back.
