Voice-To-Text?

Hi there,

I'm about to put up a lot of content on my site. What is the best vocal-to-text programs out there? I want to be able to talk out loud, my microphone pick up what I'm saying, and write it out.

I've never used it but I hear Dragon Naturally Speaking is the best

I also recommend dragon. You can use it for other stuff, not just speaking text. It's pretty cool.

Dragon Naturally Speaking IS the best, and also the easiest to use! It's very accurate too. Since my right arm is in a bad shape after the heart problems I suffered some 3-4 years ago, I have been using Dragon on and off, and it HAS helped me a lot, because I am constantly working on the keyboard, and it strains my right arm so much that it suffers a lot of pain every evening especially sometime after I stop my work and relax a while. That excruciating pain in the upper arm comes suddenly and when I am relaxing, laying on the sofa in front of the telly. While working, though the pain is there, it is not felt as the mind is engrossed in other things... but when I am free, and the mind wants to be free, the pain comes and stay for a while. DNS helps and has helped reduce that pain a lot, because I am not using the rt hand that much due to the DNS. DNS is for almost differently-abled people like me, and is also for young energetic and very healthy people like you all!

And, I am using the most common type of the headphone (with mic), and it still helps in transforming the speech into perfect text! So imo you don't need the dedicated top-of-the-line headphone to use DNS, though it may help lot more in the final results! I don't know about it though... I haven't ever felt the need to buy the most expensive headphones in the market!

Are there any specific requirements for Dragon Naturally Speaking? Would it still work properly for people with accents?

I have Indian-accent (English), and DNS understands and texts my "speech" accurately.

I have selected the Indian-accent English option, and then trained the sw for only about half an hour or less, and with a normal not-too-expensive not-too-fancy headphone with microphone.

1. Create new folder
2. Download each file to the new folder you have created (18 .rar files in total)
3. Install winrar (http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm)(choose one of the top 2 links under "English WinRAR and RAR release")
4. Right click "setup.part01.rar" (one of the files you downloaded)
5. Select "Extract Here"
6. Run setup and use one of the keys provided in the thread

You need WinRAR, and to download ALL the parts starting with the first one and ending with the last one. Once you have all the file parts you will be able to extract the contents of the WinRAR archive. You will need to follow the rest of the instructions in that thread correctly as well.

u can use babylon...but u dont get it free...
