Voice search is becoming a bigger part of SEO every year, and I’m trying to understand what actually works in 2025. This thread is only for discussion and learning no promotions, no links, no selling, and nothing that violates BHW rules.

Some points I’m curious about:

How are you optimizing content for voice-based queries?

Are long-tail keywords still the key for voice search?

Any tools that help with voice search research?

Have you noticed changes in traffic or CTR from voice results?

I’d appreciate insights from members who have tested strategies or seen real results:
What’s your approach to voice search optimization this year, and what should beginners focus on?

Featured snippets and concise answers drive most voice traffic so structuring content around clear Q&A sections helps a lot.

Voice searches work absolutely the same way as the normal searches... at the front there's a speech-to-text recognition but then it's a normal search.
So voice searches changed nothing.

Exactly. I don't think that voice search really changes much, and focusing on little nuances to cater to very rare/slight differences between voice and regular search isn't worth it tbh.

yall are half-right about voice being just stt (speech-to-text) , but ur missing how the back-end has shifted from keyword matching to entity retrieval lol .
voice optimization is basically aeo . google's ai models (gemini/sge) are the ones answering voice queries now , and they prioritize documents with high semantic density .
focus on : if ur not using the speakable property in ur json-ld , u don't exist for siri/assistant . it's a direct signal to the crawler that this specific chunk of text is ready for voice output .
voice queries are conversational . u need to structure ur content in 40-50 word 'answer chunks' that perfectly match conversational intents . google extracts these passages and ranks them as position zero
voice search results are almost always pulled from the knowledge vault . u gotta bridge ur site with high-trust entities using sameAs pointers to wikipedia or crunchbase concepts .
if u treat voice as just another keyword ur gonna get outpaced by agents . it’s about controlling the truth vector in the dataset googles ai pulls from . pass on the basic stt talk , focus on structure .
