Voice Broadcasting for Lead Generation?

I have been utilizing B2B voice broadcasting to provide lead generation to a specific niche for several years now. (It's a B2B service that is not associated with IM).

I have the platform, the B2B data, scripts, etc., and it has worked fairly well. I also recently started utilizing Ringless Voicemail Drops to cell phones. The technology works, but the jury is still out on its effectiveness.


I don't know if this type of marketing works well for lead generation for services such as SEO, websites, reputation management, etc. Does anyone have experience with using voice broadcasting for lead gen for these services?

I do get automated calls from time to time saying "This is Sharon, your Google specialist....and we now have a first page position available for a business in your industry", etc., etc....and I wonder if it's effective. (Apparently, it may be, since I get the same call every couple of months.)

P.S. - I've seen people opine here about the legality of voice broadcasting, and I'm not interested in debating that. I'm interested to see if anyone has any actual experience with it. Thanks.

yea it works but you need real legit lists to send to or you can end up in deep waters...

There are some very tight guidelines to follow when doing this or you can end up with some regulatory actions against you, lawsuits and heft fines, robo calling is illegal in most cases. I sued a bill collector and won because they were robo-dialing me for debt that was owned by someone else and never giving me the ability to opt out from their calls.

Found a Saul Goodman type lawyer and we sued them for violating the TCPA, was lovely.

I know that if sending to businesses you have to send the broadcasts to the business owners cell phone. Just like in ringless voicemail.

I'm looking to try it as well in my local area. The problem in my case before I can try it is targeted B2B cellphone lists for the owner or decision maker. How did you solve that?

If you are calling cell phones, you are going to get sued for a lot of money. It works well until it doesn't. Just ask local lighthouse who is fielding several class action lawsuits and Google is suing as well. If you can make it work, knowing you could get hammered for a 7-8 figure judgment not including defensive attorney's fees which are going to run in the millions of dollars, you are smarter than me.

Don't quote me on this, but the company doing the Google deal of "this is Sharon, your local Google specialist" has had law suits from Google filed against them..Pretty sure I heard it was them. You definitely don't want to pretend to be calling from Google..

I love how all these people are so sure that this service is illegal. There were a number of other issues going on with the google law suit. So to use that as the basis for stating that you can get in trouble for sending is rediculous. It is like any other online marketing campaign if you dont follow the guidelines, such as, for these campaigns you MUST clean it with the DNC prior to sending. If you dont follow this rule then yes you can get pinched. Just like with email if you dont use the suppression list then you can be held accountable for those emails that were sent. Or if you send to a phone or call a phone that hasnt complied with tcpa regulations then you can get pinched for that as well. If you can show me where people are getting in trouble for sending the ringless VM's please send them my way. As far as i have been told by a lawyer and everythign i have r ead online that this is teh new SMS of the 2007-2010 which had very little if any regulation at all.
